4WD break-in for re-gearing

Drive 10 min...cool 10 min...do this 3 times

Rear differential: in normal stop go traffic for 15 min...cool 15 min do this 3 times

For freeway: 30 minutes under 60 MPH...cool 30 minutes..you need to do this for the first 500 miles

Check out any of the gear makers websites...Motiv, Yukon, etc.

Yes but with a FAD that process won’t touch the front gears.

I guess I'm confused.

if you put it in four-wheel-drive the front differential will operate. FAD?
Correct, your listed procedure says nothing about engaging 4WD. Most 4WD vehicles don’t have a FAD (front axle disconnect) so the front gears still spin in 2WD.
