Hello Everyone,
bought my (our) first Jeep last Monday.
New 2019 Rubicon, fully loaded (was a demo model).

Already mounted SmittyBilt Atlas Steps and put in the Mole Bags.
Roof Rack and DirtyDog seat cover on the way.

And just placed an order for recovery gear and a winch...

Any recommendation for intro into Off-Roading courses near Houston?

You have already made an important step and let yourself be known to the community. Now Just find a few jeepers near you that you can spend a day with and talk to them. Drive a few trails with them and you will be fine. You can also look up You-Tube and search for 4x4 driving tips. Search the JL wrangler videos and learn to Change your oil, do some MOD's on your vehicle and learn about some cool trails.

As was said above.....

hidden Falls Adventure park in Marble Falls is likely your best bet for trail riding near Houston.

For as huge as Texas is, it's ridiculous how few options we have. Hidden falls is 7 hours from me, Barnwell is 11 hours from me, and Big Bend about 12. I'd wheel this thing once a week if I could but sheesh!

Because Texas has no public land and western states have millions of acres of it.

Thanks for welcoming me.
We got pre-paid oilchange with it for about 10 years... so... yeah... good on that.

@Chocolate Thunder is correct. Personally, I am hoping that you go buy about 10,000 acres of good wheeling land and open it up to everyone for free or minimal charge. That would be great! Let us know when you buy it!
