Hey all,
New to Jeep and recently took delivery of an ordered JLR on 5/31/21 from Tuttle-Click Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in SoCal Irvine, CA (tuttleclickjeep.com). Upon closer inspection once I arrived home, I noticed quite a few paint issues. Honestly surprised how this even left the Factory and passed QC, let alone passed Tuttle-Click Chrysler Jeep's inspection when it arrived off the truck!
I get the whole 'Jeep Thing', but for an over $51k price tag, this is really unacceptable. Below are the major examples. Fact is, the entire Jeep has some version of paint defects throughout its entire body, ranging from dust trappings, to under spray and areas of major overspray.
@JeepCares does this look good for a $51k MSRP Jeep? Or am I way out of line here...
Clear coat bubbles all over side pannels, you can see them in the light spots, it's basically all over areas near the driver side:
All over trunk, things caught under clear coat, maybe paint:
Door hinges paint wasn't properly cleared off:
Doors not aligning properly and slamming metal to metal on both sides:
Drivers side:
Passenger Side:
Dimples in paint (hard to see in photo) along driver side roll bar as well as debris stuck under paint; nothing on passenger side:
Drip on tailgate:
Drip on driver's side door:
Right below the tailgate; what appears to be a paint blob, although the body shop manager said it could be bad welding. Also, piece of dirt stuck right under the paint right next to it:
By tailgate handle, more debris stuck under paint:
Door metal on passenger Door not cut off all the way and sticks out; not present on driver's door:
Scratch on inner fender flare (could have happened at dealer):
Base of seat post deep scratches (this could have happened at the dealer also):
Instrument cluster bezel loose and rattling:
Crease in the body, partly hidden by hardtop:
Hardtop chip in back by rear window:
Some sort of acid etching on driver side hardtop towards bottom:
White paint splatters on top of hardtop:
UPDATE 6/24/2021:
I had a meeting at the dealer today (Tuttle-Click Chrysler Jeep) with the service manager (Don), body shop manager (Robert), and Chrysler rep (Sheri). Went over all the spots and they assured me that they'll be able to repair most of the items.
I'm particular about breaking factory paint, so I'm not happy about this at all. They're offering me some complimentary service packages for the inconvenience. I feel they can do better.
I spoke with Jeep Wave, and it appears they are willing to propose some better scenarios. Time will tell.

UPDATE 7/16/2021:
Well after speaking with Jeep Cares, the end of the line was an extended warranty offer for the inconvenience (5 year/60k Maximum Care). I can't file a BBB complaint (Not that it would do much) since it involves a car defect and they push to use their Autoline feature, which Stellantis isn't participating in. I was able to file an AG complaint with the state of Michigan, although I'm not too confident that will go anywhere.

UPDATE 9/25/2021:
I still haven't taken the Jeep in for repairs. I've washed it and discovered more issues with the paint and overall fit and finish. I'm attempting to re-open my case with Jeep Cares to see what they can do. At this point I'd prefer a dealer buy-back and they can re-order something for me. This has been an absolute terrible 1st Jeep experience.

UPDATE 9/28/2021:
Heard back from Don at Tuttle-Click regarding my request for buy-back. He once again deferred to Jeep Cares and said they're the ones that make that decision. I'm done. They've had plenty of chances to make it right, and they haven't. I'm gonna go ahead and sell the Jeep, update my dealership review and post this thread link on the Bronco forums as well. Hopefully anyone who is on the fence will be educated on what to look for and what to expect when thinking about buying a Jeep product. I had the "it won't happen to me" mentality, until it did. BUYER BEWARE!
