Hi all -

I just picked up my JLUR from Koons the other day and was driving it back home to NYC (300 miles) and noticed the steering wheel is extremely sensitive. The car sways to the right a lot and it was a pain to drive straight. This is my first ever Jeep and never test drove before purchasing. Is this normal?

Do you guys have any suggestions? Should I bring the car to my local dealer?

Even with the 2021 model year with the new black steel gearbox, the vehicle still wanders a little bit when driving in the highways. My 2021 JLUR is pretty much the same; perfectly fine and dead straight on the road, and it is great even on the highway, but it does wander a little bit and the steering feels a little too sensitive. As the previous post suggested, lowering tire pressure is the easiest way to decrease highway wandering.
The second easiest way that people have discovered is to swap the front lower control arms for the longer ones found in the Mopar 2” lift kit. This brings back the caster to ~6 degrees from the stock ~4 degrees and helps a lot with wandering according to those who have done the swap.
There is a very detailed thread about the LCA swap on these forums:

I would check your caster. Both my JL Rubicons were 4.7* from the factory. The Mopar LCAs got my ‘19 to 6.0*, which helped. I put MC adjustable LCAs on my ‘20 and the caster is ~7* and I like it better.
