Sadly, it is a complicating mess under the hood of any modern piston-engine vehicle. I would not dream of owning them outside of a factory powertrain warranty/extended warranty.

On the 2.0L, it is actually pretty cool that they have the turbo, exhaust cooling, intake cooling all integrated into the engine intake. Yes, the cooling circuits/hoses look a little mickey-mousy, but the engine itself has 1/2 the number of cams, 1/2 the number of cam chains, 1/2 the number of fuel rails,1/3 fewer valves, coils, injectors, etc than the V6.

The future of piston engines, to the extent they have a future, like it or not are turbo in-line setups. I4, I6. I'll enjoy the push rod N/A V8 manual transmission I have in my garage, as long as I can, but they are hard to find with a factory warranty.
