Hey all,

does anyone know if you can get a 14-50 adapter for the charger that came with the 4xe? We also have a Tesla model Y, and we were able to get a simple $45 adapter plug for that charger for nema 14-50. Curious if there is anything similar for the 4xe as well, but haven’t had luck finding anything yet.

thanks for your help!

Do you mean a nema 14-50 to standard 110V adapter? I'm not sure if there would be any benefit to doing that since it's only a level 1 charger.

Ok, yeah that might be the issue. The Tesla charger can adapt to different standards for level 1 or 2. Sounds like the Jeep charger is stuck at only level 1. Guess I have to find a cheap level 2 charger that I can plug into a 14-50 socket. Anyone have ideas for that?

Define cheap? Costco has one on sale for about $400 delivered. Hard to lose with their return policy.

After watching a video on chargers, I'm shocked these things cost so much. The onboard systems are what do the work.

Most of the real expense is in the cable.

Look up the cost of electric cable right now.

Your Jeep’s charger can charge at 32a, 240v. The charging cable they include will only do 12a 110v. You can get a standard 40a 240v charging station for like $400-$600.
