I thought I had my brakes all figured out after I mixed up the rear caliper brackets, but I still have doubts. I need one brave soul with Hd brakes to pull out their driver side rear lower caliper slider pin and post a picture for me. This can be done without removing the wheel, just the one bolt , move the caliper out of the way and slide out the pin. This would remove all doubt for me. The bolt just needs a bit of blue loctite and 27 ft-lbs to go back on. I know it’s a big ask, but it would really help me out.

won't one of these images help? what exactly are you wondering about?
jeep jl front brake caliper pin
I need to see the slider pin that is located on the bottom of the caliper. The top and bottom are different. One has a boot on the end , the other does not. As pictured here. Which is top and which is bottom.

That’s the best I could figure out from all my searches, I was just hoping for a visual confirmation. I do appreciate your responses, and it’s good to know that we both are thinking the boot on the bottom, if that is correct, I don’t have to redo my rear brakes.

Disclaimer: Im not a mechanic. Don’t listen to me. Here is what I’ve been taught by someone who was not a mechanic whom you should probably also ignore. Hopefully someone better informed will confirm or refute this info.

I saw that video, and it made sense, but it indicated that the pin with the bushing goes on the trailing edge, which on the rear of the jeep would be the top of the caliper not the bottom. So that’s why was confused.

Ok If the video is wrong or confusing I’ll delete the post

So I got a hold of a new driver side caliper bracket, and in fact the booted pin is on the bottom. No more videos, no more drawings, just an actual part. Lucky for me, I put the brackets back on correctly. A good Saturday is in my future.
