I'm new to the jeep world and would like to install a quality lift and put 37's my jeep. Any recommendations on lift brand and do I keep a 17" rim or go with 20's.

I like Evo, but opinions carry wrist depending on budget and purpose.

Rim size is preference, hard core jeepers will look down their noses at 20s, but it's your jeep.

Thanks for the input. I kind of thought the same on the 20's but thought I would ask.

I've been going to jeep gatherings the past couple or so months just to get idea and see things in person. I'm leaning towards splitting the two and going with 18. So far I like that setup the best with 295/70's in a Nitto Ridge Grappler or something similar. It just looks to strike a good balance.

Do you guys even know the repercussions of going with 20 vs 17 ? Beyond looks, whats the difference or advantage of one over the other for a given application?

Going with 17" wheels allow for more rubber between you and the road=BETTER Ride.. Cushy! Offroad... Protects those rims, wider footprint and again Cushy Ride. Please Don't put 20's on your jeep. If you do, you'll be back on here telling us your jeep rides like shit and Jeeps suck.

Hey Brad!

Congrats on joining the Jeep Crew! Its never as easy as getting one answer with your type of question, so here are some things that will help direct us, your fellow peoples, to give you a good answer.

  1. What is the purpose of your Jeep
    1. Mall Crawlin
    2. Rock Crawlin
    3. Mall Crawl with the occasional Rock Crawl
    4. Ohio's First Desert PreRunner
  2. What is your budget?
  • Ballin on a budget of tree-fiddy?
  • I can afford the world
  • I want to do it right the first time but not spend excessively ($1000+)
Lastly, will you be installing it yourself and what your mechanical experience is.

and finally, you will get a lot of hate for putting anything larger than 17's on a Jeep (brownie points if you figure out how to fit a 15"!) but in the end it's YOUR Jeep and you need to do what makes you happy in the end. 17's are better offroad though for already mentioned reasons ;)

PM me if you need anything,
