Im only 18 so my budget is limited, I would like to get a new set of wheels and tires on my Jeep, thinking 285 with 17x9. Can someone walk me through do I need to get new TPMS for each wheel, is it worth getting my speedometer reprogrammed and should I do this myself or buy the wheels and take it to a dealer?

Thanks so much!

You can use the TPMS from your stock rims, but 4 new ones are under $200. You don't need them, but your tire pressure light will be on all the time.
I just did 285/70/17s on 17x8.5 Fuel Anzas on my 2020 Sport. I did not recalibrate the speedo, it is very close.
You can do it yourself or just have a local garage do it.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
That's a great wheel choice for that black Jeep w/ beige top, looks like they were made just for you!

I have 295/70s an 17x8.5 +10 offset, here's a pic of them on stock suspension, and then after I added the Rubicon suspension. Since you said you're on a budget, I'd highly recommend going that route if you want a great mild lift for a nice price (they go for around $150 on the site give or take). And I also didn't do any speedometer recal, no biggie IMO.
I also didn't run TPMS in my new tire set, although I may transfer the ones from my stock wheels in the future.

Yours looks like a gray and black version of mine, awesome!
I might do a 1.5" leveling kit for $160 later.
Also might remove my splash guard for a more aggressive llok.

As mentioned, the factory TPMS sensors will fit the new wheels so you won't need to have an expense for those, unless your plan is to sell the factory assemblies with the sensors.

As for the speedometer, it will be slightly off but there are aftermarket solutions that can adjust for tire size and many other functions such as lighting etc.

Your speedo will be 2-4 percent off so it's up to you if you want to recalibrate or not. I live in Germany so I plan on recalibrating it to avoid being blitzed by those speed traps. You can move your TPMS over and it'll work fine. There are budget spacer lift kits but if you're looking for an inch or so, look for a set of takeoff Rubicon shocks and springs. They are cheap and will give you some improvements off road in suspension travel.

If your on a budget just get some rubicon take offs! 33” tires fit no problem and you can get all 5 tires and rims for 1000-1200$
check out the member marketplace here and your local craigslist

Hello! I’m new to this forum, looking for some guidance. I have a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I am trying to find out what the largest tire I can put on a 17” wheel without lifting beyond stock height. Also, looking at the XD811 Rock Star Wheels in a 17” X 8”. Does anyone know what offset I would need? Thank You!
