So a few weeks ago my '24 4Xe with less than 4k miles on it had a check engine light, but was driving fine. So the code was a bad O2 sensor. That was replaced and when the dealer did a qc drive the CEL came on again. Now it was the catalytic converter. Then after that was fixed and taken for a qc drive the CEL came on again. Not heard back what this CEL code was for, but they opened a star case, The dealer is treating me well and I am hopeful, but curious what is going on with the new jeep. Hope it gets figured out soon. Anyone else experience something like this?

There have been a rash of O2 sensor failures, more than likely the cat was fine but the after cat sensor was just faulty. That's why the CEL came back on after they replaced the cat.

That is for the 3.6L, though. I haven't heard of any newo2 sensor issues with the 4XE/2.0. Sometimes the upstream goes bad on these engines (Will throw a rich/lean DTC) but not often.

Well on these very forums there's been a rash of bad O2 sensors on brand new jeeps coming from the factory as far as I can tell. I don't think the O2 sensor cares what motor its connected to... Unless you're saying that they have different ones just because of a different engine which sounds well it's retarded but then I remember we're talking about Jeep here so nevermind.

The sensors are different between engines (and models). Just about every OEM in existence uses different sensors for different locations. Sometimes it's just an identical sensor with a different connector, but still. Some vehicles that only have with two sensors may have a different supplier for each sensor. Sometimes the same part is used for multiple sensor locations. Manufacturing is a complicated beast.

I forgot about the 392s. We had a few reports of those as well. The elephant has been the 3.6Ls. Something is frying the sensors but engineering doesn't really know what. They released a PCM update to help address it but we're still seeing some failures after the fact.
