Yesterday morning, I started the JL as any regular morning, only to notice the display went wild. Everything was clicking itself, jumping from radio station to radio station, and twitching. I turned everything off and turned it back on...same thing....then I just drove to my destination, and turned everything off and left it off for 3-4 minutes, turned it back on and everything was back to normal.
After that, it was fine all day. This morning it was fine all day too. Anybody know what happened those 15 minutes it had a mind of its own?

Also bonus question- My JL is at 4600 miles. After how many miles should I get oil changes??
My BMW 3 series goes every 10,000 miles.

Thanks in advance!

Had it gotten wet by any chance? Water or moisture on the display can cause that.

I just discovered that my JL has steering wheel radio controls on the back side of the steering wheel...Maybe your finger tips were activating these hidden buttons???
(no, my dealer did not show them to me when I took delivery)

I have a 7" display and it did the exact same thing yesterday afternoon. The radio started changing stations , the climate control turned on and off A/C, the icon apps were being randomly pushed non stop. Turning display off and on did nothing to help. I turned my jeep off for 1/2 hour while I went shopping and when I started back up it seems to be fixed. This morning its alright as well, Its weird seeing your thread as I went to post my experience, maybe its related? One thing I did earlier that morning was I did clean the jeep and wiped the fingerprints off the screen with a microfiber rag. the jeep was turned off when i wiped it down.

Some of the touch screen laptops at work go crazy when you clean them. So you may be on to one of the problems. Heat affects others.

You know what, come to think of it, Im pretty sure the display in my jeep also had some water drop residue. Maybe that was the reason. Atleast I hope so.

Open up the engine bay and the fuse box and press on all the fuses. Its pretty common for them to only be half seated. Might help.

This happened to me today. There was no water or moisture on the radio or in the cab. By coincidence, it was raining today, but Iā€™ve had the Jeep for a year and have gone thru many storms with nothing like this.
Taking in Jeep soon for second broken visor and Iā€™ll try to get some info from dealer, but they will probably say they never come across the problem before.

Did yā€™all find any solutions to this problem? Mine has done it off and on for a few weeks and now constantly to the point I canā€™t keep the screen on.

This just happened to me today. Was away for the weekend. Jeep parked outside in cold. On the way home my display went crazy. First it was showing the rear camera view. Then the heated seat would go to highest setting by itself. If you turned it off 30 seconds later would go back to highest setting. Then the ac would tun on by itself. It would go to highest setting. It was like the car was possessed. Radio went on and off. I finally pulled over and turned the engine off When I restarted all was fine..
Craziest thing I have ever seen. 2019 jeep sahara

I have a 2018 JLU with the 8.4" display. This happens to me anytime the interior gets too moist. If I leave the top down over night and the dew point is high, for example. Or if the top is down and it gets foggy. Seems like a common issue.
