Well popped my hood and didn’t see my hood prop.
I called the dealer to get another one and they said these often get stolen. ??
crazy!
so guess it’s time to look at hood locks.

Why would anyone want to steal something so useless?

I couldn't find mine until I looked up. I think it is weird to have the prop mounted to the underside of the hood, I am use to seeing them mounted to the engine compartment.

Go for some hood struts, redline or similar. You won't be sorry.

Gotta be kidding. What does someone do with a Jeep hood prop rod...sell it?

If this was really something that was happening, we would have seen quite a few posts about it already. Something else is going on.

2nd the Bolt lock. Very clean. But it is incompatible with the front trail camera, it's in the same place.

@JLRuby

Is that the same guy at the dealer that tells customer's the JL takes 6 quarts of oil..... Cause he/she is full of chitt....

You can find JL hood props on eBAY for about $15+- shipped.. Were I you, I would buy Redline Tuning's Hood struts. Install those and you do not need a hood prop nor will you miss the one that disappeared from your JL.

As for a Hood lock (any brand)..... very easily defeated... but will slow the thief down a couple of minutes.

I third bolt lock. Awesome and sleep safer now. Hardest part was for me to find a rivetgun that I would use once and never again....

That sucks @LLRubylady. Hate thieves. Maybe look on brightside? Hood prop is probably one of hte cheapest things they could have taken and with least headache. Good luck.

This sounds like an answer looking for a question.
