I wish (maybe there is) a metric to gauge how much carbon footprint was used to produce a vehicle, in addition of course to how much it uses once produced.
Look up cobalt and lithium mining sometime (principal elements in EV batteries)
I've read/watched a bunch of info on ICE vs EV, it seems the total carbon-footprint break-even point might be around 5 years. (Not counting dealing with disposal of the EV batteries tho)
I have not read much regarding ICE vs EV vs Hybrid however.

Is it true that the latest flash adds the message "Stop/Start Not Ready China Flu Mask Not On"?
I believe so but I think they recalled that on Jan 20th. At least they promised they would fix it, no word yet though....

Here is a list in regard to the official ESS "Excuses" :
.
Driver ’s seat belt is not buckled.
• Driver ’s door is not closed. 6
• Battery temperature is too warm or cold.
• Battery charge is low.
• The vehicle is on a steep grade.
• Cabin heating or cooling is in process and an acceptable cabin temperature has not been achieved.
• HVAC is set to full defrost mode at a high blower speed.
• HVAC set to MAX A/C.
• Engine has not reached normal operating temperature.
• The transmission is not in a forward gear.
• Hood is open.
• Transfer case is in 4LO or Neutral
• Brake pedal is not pressed with sufficient pressure.

Other Factors Which Can Inhibit Autostop Include:
• Accelerator pedal input.
• Engine temp too high.
• Vehicle speed threshold not achieved from previous auto-stop (2 mph (3 km/h) BSG, 5 mph (8 km/h) ESS
• Steering angle beyond threshold.
• ACC is on and speed is set.
• Vehicle is at high altitude
• System fault present
• Low fuel is detected

It may be possible for the vehicle to be driven several times without the STOP/START system going into a STOP/ START READY state under more extreme conditions

Thanks Kate and happy Friday! I've sent a PM to hopefully get things rolling. I do realize that the ball is in my court to make the next service appointment so I do appreciate your patience!

I’m having the same issue after the dealer changed out the aux battery. How would I rectify this problem?

Thank you :)

That's pretty normal operation isnt it? Every make of newer car I've driven doesn't do start stop if it's too cold or too hot outside. Most of them however won't have this nice message to tell you that's what is happening.

I can't recall last time my stop start cycled. Probably won't until April once it warms up outside a bit.

Unless this is a rhetorical question and I'm just slow today in which case, my answer is: move to Hawaii?

Just ask @cosine he knows!
ESS BLOWS!
I could see its' value w/ some vehicles, but a Jeep Wrangler~big fat no IMO!
Have to go through special procedures just to jump the damn thing, and many of us know when a Jeep is in distress it's not going to be in some convenient location.
WTF were you thinking FCA!!!!!!

It's all about fuel mileage numbers for CAFE, and it's going to get a lot worse.
Oh, for sure! but trying to squeeze a thimble of fuel out of a rolling refrigerator box that is a vehicle used for remote locations is as stupid as it gets :(
