Hey all. Been into Jeep’s with the intro of the JK. I’ve had two, 2 door rubis. Great little Jeep’s but always wanted a 4 door for the kids. Ironically, kids are driving their own cars and no longer ride with me but now I’m enjoying all the space of the 4 door.

I took a break from wranglers for a couple years and picked up a KL trail hawk. Took this Jeep way more places than I imagined it could go.

As usual, life gets in the way. Just before getting the KL, I went thru some family changes, aka divorce.

in 2018, my oldest daughter was visiting her grandparents in Oklahoma. She calls me out of the blue to tell me she saw a Jeep that looked like the Jurassic park Jeep.

That phone call sparked an idea. The girls we’re getting older and I knew my time with them would be waning soon. They grow up too fast.

My dream was to turn get a JL and turn it into a Jurassic park wrapped Jeep and travel cross country with the girls to Key West. It was a bucket list thing 🤷🏻‍♂️

My original idea gave way to traveling across country in.

I decided to pick this up.

Having never owning or using a MH’s, it was quite the experience.
Looking back, a year after the trip, I greatly enjoyed it and will forever cherish it.

The trip cross country was amazing and I hope to do it again. I sold the MH, so I’ll need to look at towables.

Back to the JLUR

I started out upgrading to the mopar control arms and Steer Smarts tracbar.
No pics of those two mods but both of those should be standard on rubicon’s.

I also added MC’s front diff cover and skid plus rear cover.

Then took it out on a trail ride or two.

Finally got around to lifting the Jeep. It did amazing stock but could use more clearance.
Went with Accutune’s 3” stage 1 kit with Locked hydro bumps in front,
Rancho CA drop brackets and Steer Smarts rear tracbar.

She’s all done for now. I have 37’s on order and should be delivered anytime now.

I’d also added the tazer and front camera and Grimm’s bolt kit from northridge 4x4, misc camping gear, outback trail gate table, iPad bracket for maps and 67 designs dash rail.

Two notes I’d had for my mods.
The steer smarts front tracbar interfered with the MC cast iron diff cover with the stock suspension. So far, it seems good with the lift. No reason to suspect it to interfere now. The Falcon SS adjuster knob does make contact with the MC diff cover. Seems tolerable for now, so I’ll just deal with it.

Also, I had installed the MBRP cat back exhaust. It removed the stock rear muffler, which was I was after, but the exhaust pipe rubbed on the under floor storage box in the rear. So much so that the plastic storage box had melted and deformed a little. I’ve since removed the MBRP and reinstalled the stock exhaust.

Which wheels are those? I've been looking for some bronze. I love those.

They’re the Icon Rebound pros. They have a bead retention design into them with bolts all along the inner part of the wheel.

Back to my ramp tester….
mall looks good. Maybe extend the front brake line brackets and then maybe a shake down run soon. 😁
