What are my options? I have a 2020 diesel Rubicon Unlimited.
Was told 2.5" lift would clear 37s. It hits the plastic fender liner behind tire. Passenger side mostly, some on the drivers side. It will rub just hitting a bump at speed.

Heres a pic. It's pulling up the upper piece.

@HappyJeeper , easiest solution is to remove the lower piece (three bolts) and leave it off, then for the section just above, use a heat gun to mold the area back…bam! No more rubbing!

BTW, I saw do this a long while back…I did not come up with it, but it works.

Or, you could use it as an upgrade opportunity to put in inner fenders!

Even with a bracket for the track bar, I found that the lift will move the axle towards the drivers side a bit. The rear of the diesel must be heavier. Teraflex makes .5 and 1 inch spacers that may level it out better since it is rubbing on both sides.

Looks like an ICON lift. To my knowledge, they have not offered a lift kit specific to the 400lb heavier diesel. Which means you’re likely sagging below 2.5” of lift before even putting gear in the back.
Just a guess. As others have said. Remove the plastic piece and take a heat gun to the upper portion or add spacer.

I'll try the removal of the piece and the heat gun trick. I can push the plastic back about 3/4" with my hand, but it won't stay. And I carry no real gear. No winch, stock steel bumpers.

the heat will soften the plastic and when it cools it will stay. I run the Falcon 3.3 shocks so I had to remove the lower covers.

The gas versions only have a muffler in the back and diesel also weighs about a pound per gallon more than gas.

Heat gun worked for my Mopar 2"(2.5) I heated the area until softened (pliable) and flattened it with a piece of wood until the plastic cooled. No more bump out and no more rubbing.

Well, I went out and removed the lower piece. I took a heat gun to the upper plastic.

I don't know if I like it open down there. What are some good fender liners that work for this?

So you left the bottom piece on? Maybe since I took mine off, I can try and see if I can get it flat.

You running wheel spacers or didn’t have to? If not, that could be part of the problem as that will keep them close to the body. I have +12 offset 9 inch wide wheels and mine rubbed when off roading. I went with motobilt inner fender and it doesn’t rub any more. They were not fun to install. Actually took more time to install than my lift if you can believe it.

Yeah, I'm definitely not happy with Motobilt and the time involved to install the liners. I had to highly modify both sides to work as the liners don't take into account the fuel filler hose and the vent hoses on the pass side. After the mods, I think they look great. But they are definitely not bolt in. I have hours invested in them.

Just get rid of the bumper. It’s just going to damage the body when you smack a rock. I took it off the same day it came home.

I am not running spacers. And from where they are rubbing, I don't see how it would change. 1.5 or 1.75 would still be in the wheel well. I am on stock rims too. They dot rub in front at all.

I love the way they are tucked in.
