I just noticed that my 2022 3.6 gas wrangler has a label under the hood that says 3.0 Diesel.

Is this a normal occurrence? What about your hood label?

I am now worried I’ve been using wrong fuel type for the past half a year!

Diesels might have more insulation? You could have a free added bonus!

Maybe it’s just identifying as an EcoDiesel.

Flip side is.....I guess there’s some diesel running around with a gasser sticker under their hood. 🤓

You clearly have an experimental Jeep.

Went to put diesel, but the fuel door sticker says “gas”. Should I maybe be using a 50/50 mixture?
When I worked for a Ford Dealer, our lead hand (who drove a Chevy) mixed diesel with his gas every few months. Swore it helped keep the engine clean. You can’t mix gas in a Diesel engine, but the reverse didn’t seem to cause his truck any damage. ….Not that I am advocating you try it….

Yep— my father ( commercial garage owner) recommended a gallon in a tank every now and then. But that was pre computers, sensors, catalytic converters, etc. the whole assortment could go “TILT” now 🤷🏼‍♂️ BTW- diesels can ( or could) handle a forgotten percentage of gas.

Left over parts being used because they are not making diesels right now so with supply issues they used what was in stock and a close match.

Or it was damaged in shipping and they threw a diesel hood on it and kicked it out for delivery to the dealership. Or the dealership damaged it and swapped out a diesel hood so they could get you to take delivery.

It 's probaly the correct hood. It's just that the wrong Jeep is under the hood.
