I have recently purchased my first Wrangler. It's a 2018 JL Rubicon and I love it. However, I have some confusion surrounding the "MUTE" button on the dashboard. In my former 2019 Compass, the MUTE button would simply mute the radio, but would pause the audio whenever I used Apple CarPlay. This was a useful feature since when you unmuted the audio it wouldn't have gone through 20 other songs on the playlist.
However, on the Wrangler, the MUTE button only mutes the CarPlay audio and does NOT pause it. I have to navigate through the touch screen back to the audio and hit the pause button there. Not difficult, but definitely not as simple. I reached out to Stellantis Customer Care and they said, "The mute will only silence not pause what your listening to." I was ready to accept that answer, but it seems like everyone I talk to tells me that the MUTE button performs the same way it did in my 2019 Compass (where it will pause the CarPlay audio).
I am curious what other folks' experience with this is. Maybe it is just because mine is a 2018 model and that was the first production year. How does that button function for anyone else with a 2018 Wrangler JL?
