Hey guys,

Questions for those who own a V6 eTorque:

What kind of MPG numbers are you seeing...
  1. on the stock 32/33-inch tires?
  2. on 35-inch tires?
I am still weighing keeping my Sahara V6 with 13 MPG vs ordering a 2022. I keep going back-and-forth between a diesel and a V6 eTorque. I'd like to get the full-time 4WD if I can but is not available on the diesel.

Please don't forget to vote

Thanks in advance!

I have the stock Firestone MT’s on my 2 door Willys with the E torque. I drive 95% on the highway 70-75 mph, and I average between 21-22 mpg

I’m currently averaging 19.4 lifetime (19,100+ mi.) on stock Firestone M/T2s. I do a pretty balanced mix of city and highway driving.

Are you on 35s? 13 mpg seems exceptionally low even if you are.

Agreed.

I have a regular non-eTorque V6 with Selec-Trac on 35s. I am averaging 13-14 in the city; 15.5 on the highway.

Is that 315/70R17? I.e., 34.4 inches...?
Nope, 305/70r17 as in 33.9x12.2r17

315/70r17 are 34.4x12.7r17

I purposely chose that size to have a lesser impact on power and mpg.

But honestly, I was recently parked beside another Jeep with 315/70r17 BFG K02, and not only did my 305 look just as big, it actually looked fatter. Both were on Rubicon wheels and I had to go read the sidewall to confirm that it was a 315/70r17, cause I first thought that these BFG were either 295/70s or 305s even though I knew that BFG doesnt make 305/70s in K02s. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that my TOYOs physically looked that big.

I’m getting 18/22 with the 35s and the XR package.
Wow. That’s awesome. I don’t get near 22 mpg. If I stayed on the highway I might would be lucky to pull 17/18. Granted the tires with the xr package aren’t 35s they are 34.4.

Post 35s (315/70/17) and 4.56 gears

I'm averaging 17 around town and 21 on the highway. 3.6V6 with ESS. I use ESS heavily around town - I have upgraded to an H7/800cca battery.

That's about 1 mpg loss compared to the 33s around town, and 1.5ish loss on the highway.

Twin Jeep as yours! I’m getting the same. Average 18, mixture of highway driving in my commute and errands around town.

You are not recalibrating your speedo/odo. Once that is done you will see approximately true, more accurate miles traveled. Your mileage will be much better. Bigger tires less milage, failure to recalibrate much less mileage.
