I haven't taken delivery of my 2021 JLUS diesel yet but I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs. I wanted the EcoDiesel because I had one in a 2016 Ram 1500 and with a GDE tune I was consistently getting 33-34mpg on the highway.
I am getting about 410 miles on a tank. Overall I am okay with that.

I'm pretty impressed with the EcoDiesel performance . . . power and economy.
Went to drive a 4xe, 2.0 and Eco-Diesel today. For both my wife and me there was a hands down, clear cut winner. The Diesel is so much smoother, has more power, and drove the best. Both the 2.0 and 3.0 were 100% the same except engine. The 2.0 was much less refined and way rougher. My wife actually thought it had mud tires vs the K02s. We were surprised they were so different. Time to order the 3.0

Now I need to find a takeoff steel front bumper.

I just got back home from my weekend project . . . I went to look at a few different models of "ruggedized" teardrop trailers. Unfortunately, I cannot find what I'm looking for locally, so I had to hit the road in order to see the models I'm interested in.

In any event, the trip home was more of the same . . . I averaged 28.5 mpg on the way home, and that included the STUPID traffic typical of major routes entering Phoenix on a Sunday afternoon. Virtual 2 mile long backup in Kingman area Rt 93 to I-40 interchange. Jeez, that's a project ADOT needs to tackle.

The ease of acceleration up steep grades is fantastic, so getting around all the RVs, trucks and slow rolling tourists is child's play. I really LOVE this diesel! The fuel range I'm experiencing has consistently been above 480 miles per tank when doing extended driving . . . I don't really monitor my around town fuel efficiency in the Jeep because I typically drive my other vehicle when I'm in town (a 2014 fully electric Ford Focus).

I went from almost 26 to 20-21 after putting a 3.5" lift, armor, 37 mud terrains. Oh well. Still better than my 2.5" lifted JK with 3.6 v6 and 35" A/Ts at 15mpg if I was lucky

Have had my Rubicon Eco Diesel for 4 weeks. Put 37’s, 2” Mopar lift, and 550lbs of extra weight. Just drove from Phoenix to Moab and got this for mpg (500 miles). Very happy with this and as I add more miles it seems to continue to improve.

I bought my 2020 JLURD in Idaho and drove it back to Virginia...obviously fully stock. I averaged about 26 on that trip. On the first half I had little to no wind...averaged about 28. On the second half I was in storms and wind with a substantial crosswind...dropped to about 24 - 25. Overall the trip was 26+. At home I commute about 100 miles / day, about 75% interstate (but in traffic). My commute, before 35s was 25 - 27. After putting on 35s (Toyo Open Country ATII) I dropped to 23 - 25. Recently I did a quick trip down to the Miami area and back (got two Shepherds from a rescue down there). With a pretty fully loaded vehicle, with 35s and driving at about 75 mph I was at just over 24.

What I have noted is that the mpg is very sensitive to speed. 60 - 65 seems to get the best mileage. When I drive in the 60 - 65 range I consistently see 26 - 28 with 35s...by the time I get up to 75, 24 or slightly above is about the best I can do with 35s. Also it is very sensitive to wind. Crosswinds and headwinds both seem to drop mileage very quickly. From what I have seen anything over about a 10 mph cross or headwind will drop me by at least a couple mpg...with bigger winds I have seen up to a 4 mpg drop from what I usually get on the same stretch of road.

Just did a 400 mile trip in my 2021 jlur, all highway averaged 20.5. Stock tires and suspension, soft top closed, about 250lbs of gear and 300lbs of people. This is horrible.

That might be normal for driving 80 into a strong headwind. What were your wind conditions and speed?

I did 200 miles at 80mph a few weeks back. I have hardtop, and otherwise stock. I was averaging 27mph, but some stretches were as much as 34 when packed in with semi-trucks. drafting a semi really shows how bad the aerodynamics are for these.

right now my overall average is 20.8mpg with 80% city driving less than 10 mile trips at a time. i see a huge difference in slow stop and go vs highway.

Live in Phoenix AZ area, so hot as balls still. 2021 JLUR-D. I also only have 600 miles on mine, so still not fully broken in. will have new wheels and 35" tires soon.

one positive is that mine seems to be sipping DEF so far. the gauge has not really moved from 3/4 tank. have about 50 miles of trails, 250 highway miles, and 300 miles driving in town.
