I average between 23 and 25 mpg. My driving is a mix between 12 miles of mountain roads and 45 miles freeway, one way. I also drive from sea level to 6,000 feet daily. I am currently running 35 inch MT on a 3.5 inch lift. Stock gears. On the open road I get around 26 mpg plus or minus. A gas rig, equipped like mine, will get between 12 and 15 mpg. A huge difference. On a run I was on, I used 4 gallons of diesel while others in my group almost went through a tank full. I have over 26k on the jeep and zero problems.

The highway speed limits in the western US are often 75 mph or higher . . . and kills the diesel fuel economy. The sweet spot, for me anyway, seems to be around 60 mph where I can see 35 mpg numbers . . . but who drives 60 mph on the open road!

I'm running 37s on a 4.5 inch lift and I'm still averaging 22 mpg in mixed driving.

I must have a lead foot… 18.7 average with just over 8K miles. Or I got the thirsty one? LOL! Either way, I enjoy driving it when I can.

Mine was the same, it's still breaking in just wait it'll get better. I have little over 21K mi now and I'm averaging 29-31mpg. My overall best was 35mpg on the highwaydoing 60-65mph following my father towing his camper. :CWL:

I get 22-24 on the highway with 2.5 lift and bfg 35’s. Not babying just keeping up with traffic. Before lift and new tires I was rt around 28 sometimes 30. So I am happy with diesel mpgs.

I’ve been averaging 22 in town and 33 on the last tank. Only drive around 60-65 around here. This is on a JT Overland.

On my way back from Gupton to California now. The gauge shows 35.5 mpg for the trip so far and the last tank is 36.2 mpg from Gallup, NM to Needles, CA. It is all highway driving though with average around 70mph. I can only drive up to 430-460 miles per day but I think the car can do over 500 miles if I push it.
