Why mount it? Why not go with this portable version, which also has the advantage of a small inline tank to store some air and buffer the output? https://www.extremeterrain.com/arb-twin-high-performance-12-volt-portable-air-compressor-1.html
Had the portable unit, had it removed fm the case and installed under the hood on our JK. Here is why. Loading and unloading the case for each run. Loading and unloading the case for every air up. Storing the case in the Jeep, in a 2 dr room is a very valuable commodity and finding it to be precious with our JLUR as well. If you are the type of person that doesn't drive around with their off road gear in their car when not off roading then you have to find a place to store it while not offroading. The onboard system is great, none of the listed issues or concerns apply. Not only that, one less thing to forget before going out for a run.

@Kansascoast @NGSpecialfab Are you running the 3.6L v6 or 2.0L T4 engine? There's a lot more going on in the engine bay on the 2.0L engine so I'm not sure the available space will be the same.

That is how I mounted mine. Ordered the bracket by itself as I didn’t need the rest of the stuff in the package.
Does it fit under the seat ok? Also, do you worry about the rear passenger kicking the compressor in this position? Thanks!

It’s a really tight fit but I don’t think there will be any issue.

I’ve got the WeatherTech rear floor mat. The ARB prevents the mat from laying flat. The mat could be trimmed to fit but I’ve got 3 young children and I actually like that it provides some protection for the compressor, so I have just left it as is.

When I run the compressor, I’ll unhook the mat from the passenger side and lay it over until it cools off.

Thanks for the response and the picture. I'm debating this mount vs the one from MORE that mounts in the cargo area.

I thought about the MORE mount but it makes me nervous sitting out there in the open when I have the top off. Seems like its asking to get stolen there. JMO, though.

I agree, that is a concern. Decisions, decision.

I installed the bracket @kanascoast developed, I’m pleased with the result. Installation was very simple; if you remove the fender first you’ll have plenty of room to work in there.

For removing the fender, I followed these instructions (leaving the fender liner attached):

Here’s a couple pictures after bolting the compressor in and before reinstalling the fender...

Definitely a different approach for the install location. The mount looks solid pretty slick and solid too.

I'd be hesitant to do something like that myself, living in the Midwest that area going to get a lot of crap sprayed up from underneath the vehicle in the winter months. I guess the same would apply when wheeling depending on what you run into on the trail. I'd also be curious how well it holds up being next to exhaust manifold. I had an ARB CKMA12 mounted above the exhaust manifold on my JK and after a day of wheeling I'd have to take it easy when airing up since it would go into thermal temporarily shut down.
