For those interested.... Android Auto has now progressed to 7.9 .

DO, update your Android Auto app.

Current Android Auto update available is: Version: 7.9.122644-release.daily
Mine's still on 7.7 from June 3rd. It seems weird that it's taking the updates so long to show up on a Pixel 6 Pro.

Thanks. Any thoughts on why those updates take so long to be pushed out?
@Ratbert

Many/most of the updates I install are beta updates.... they are posted routinely at that site I linked to and elsewhere.

Final release versions do appear less frequently.

I have had no issues with the beta's..... but, if I were to....I would just roll back to / load an older version without the issue.

Doing the update manually takes but a few seconds...

For me AA has sufficient stability issues without rolling the dice with betas. I updated to the last non-beta release. Thanks for the link.
@Ratbert

If not already................
Do, also do get into the habit of clearing the cache in regard to the Android Auto app... and at that matter, your apps in general

Is it really necessary to update if I'm not having any problems?

@Daffydnbugs

Remember, we are talking updating Android Auto. Take the MA1 out of the picture..

Updating an app, any app, brings fixes to an app and new features, etc. to the app.

With that said, sure you benefit by updating an app whether it's Android Auto, Google Maps, Waze or ... any app.

I do understand the benefit of keeping apps updated. I meant the official updates compared to the beta.

@Ratbert

The last day or so.... I have been doing a little research... some internet reading....

From what I have read, the last beta in particular, has addressed additional issues in regard to the Pixel 6 / Pixel smartphones specifically.

Do as you please but were I you, I would update to the most recent Android Auto beta.
Android Auto 7.9.122644-release.daily beta

By the way, GOOGLE, does not release/tender betas that they feel aren't lets call it, worthy..

I know I have been running with their betas and never an issue...

Have the MA1 in my wife's Cherokee and I have AA Wireless in my Wrangler. Ditching the MA1 and getting another AA Wireless for her. When she gets out of car in garage it continuously connects and disconnects from her phone as she walks around the house for the 1 hour that the USB stays powered. The one setting that is needed is to drop the connection to the device when it no longer sees the Uconnect Bluetooth.

Good luck finding that --> "getting another AA Wireless for her"

Tell me the name of that device.... What you find will have issues also....

As for me, I have an icon on my smartphone that I click on if need be ..... that closes Android Auto, Maps and Waze so I do not have the quirk your Wife is seeing..

In stock at Amazon and anything more than her getting out of the car and closing the door is too much work. LOL
