My 35x10.5 Super Swamper SSRs should be going on this afternoon. I plan to paint the wheels but I’ll try to get some pics posted for those that want to see some skinnies :like:

Cheers

Really disappointed...discount tire’s distributor shipped 35x10.5r15s instead of 17s

I have heard there’s is a shortage of these tires but they assure me they have the right ones but I will have to wait a week or two before they arrive. Will be really pissed if they don’t come through.

Just for reference... the guy next to me (on the right) has 35x12.50 BFGs. My Jeep (on the left) has 285/75-17 BFGs. As you can see, mine are more narrow but are virtually the same diameter as the 35s.

This is what I was mentioning earlier in this thread and this opportunity for a photo popped up yesterday. The 285/75-17 is what you guys are after...it's also more plentiful and less expensive.

Well my worries are now confirmed...these are on national backorder and nobody has them. I am being told 2-3 weeks before they will be available but I am skeptical. Really bummed :headbang:

I think I may put on the 36x12.5x17 Superswamper SSRs with no lift. Seems like a great setup with rubbing only at full tilt with spacers.

Hope your tires come in soon.

Thanks I appreciate it! If you go with those tires (though not skinny), please post. Gotta spread some Super Swamper love!

Well guess what finally happened?!! My 35x10.5 swamper ssr’s we’re finally installed! As requested, here are a few initial super crappy pics. Please note, the center caps are not yet installed, wheels will be repainted and the lug nuts will be swapped for black locking nuts. Once all that is done I will update again or start a new thread.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers,

I ended up going with the Nitto Trail Grappler 35”x11.5”x17” tires mounted on an ICON Rebound 8.5”x17” rim. The wheels offer a 4.5” backspace and a -6mm offset. The tires have a C sidewall rating which I think will yield a softer ride. Here are a few pics of the wheel and tire combo!
Looks great!!!... but they don't look so narrow... how wide are the wheels?

What kind of wheels are those? But any chance to you know how much this setup weighs compared to stock?

Any noticeable difference in acceleration / MPG?
Wheels are US Wheel Rat Rod steel wheels (40lbs) and the tires are 78 lbs a piece, so 118 lbs per corner. My vision for this build mixes old school with the new school so this is the classic part. Keep in mind too that these tires measured 35.2” on the Jeep...so a true 35”...which makes this the tallest skinny option out there. I am not sure what the stock setup weighs but I think it’s around 80 lbs for wheel and tire.

There is a bit of a hit to acceleration and mpg’s but it’s not excessive. I absolutely love this setup and it looks way more aggressive in person vs pics.

Great comparison photo. I have 37x12.50 BFGs on stock rubicon rims. They are tucked nicely under the fenders.

Looks great...how do they ride on road? Are you rubbing when flexing or turning with 37s on stock wheels?
