Greetings.

We have a '24 JLU (on the road Oct '23) with almost 9K on it. I expect that we'll put 12-15K/year on it.

Got a letter today from Mopar Vehicle Protection.

What are your thoughts/conventional wisdom on getting the extended warranty? Mopar? An alternative?

Any & all insight welcome.

I bought one for my 2024 from Granger. It cost me 1700. If nothing happens, and I spent for nothing, ok, no problem. If it fixes one major issue that costs over 1700, win.

If you plan on keeping the vehicle buy the mopar maxcare. Do not waste your time or money on anything else. As far as the dealer is concerned maxcare is the factory warranty and doesn't require any bullshit to get things approved.

I second the Granger recommendation. With repair costs these days I think the chances of having repairs greater than the purchase price of the extended warranty are pretty good. I paid 1950 for 8 yr/100k for a 392 with a MSRP of 96k. That seemed like a great deal. If I get to 100k with no major repairs I'll be very happy to say I wasted the money.
