I swapped my plastic rear bumper on my 2021 JLU Willys with a 392 Mopar steel rear bumper. The side flares on the steel bumper are larger - has anyone found a solution for this? Are there smaller side flares that fit in the steel bumper?

The plastic bumper side flares have a different mounting profile and will not fit on the steel bumper.

HEY! I did the same swap this past weekend and ended up with the same gap. Also the aftermarket 392 wheels I bought did not fit on the carrier above the bumper. Did you ever find out how to get a different plastic end cap? Thanks

The solution most likely is getting Rubicon Fender Flares to compensate. Also the tire carriers are different on the Sport/Willys vs Rubicon from my understanding.

Also Sahara, lol.

You'd think they could standardize on something like that. I didn't realize until I'd already mounted the whole bumper and tried to remount my 33" KO2 Rubicon take-off spare that the Sahara rear tire carrier is about ~1" lower than the Rubicon one, lol. Frustrating.

I wound up pulling it all off and going back to my plastic bumper, sold the metal one and haven't figured out a new solution yet.

Exactly. I wish it was all the same, but only because I have a Sport. ha. This is one reason why I am waiting on a bumper. I would totally get a front steal bumper but an aftermarket rear.
I have 33s on the sport and the Sport tire carrier works with 33s but no way it would work with 35s.

Well, most obvious solution would be to get rubicon flares. They open bigger, are wider and look much better.
