Thanks. Wow, that's good to know. May need to think twice about whether or not to get the eTorque engine version... Is there any true bumper-to-bumper warranty that covers beyond factory's?
The turbo is covered by a 7year/70K warranty.
eTorque system is covered by an 8 yr/80,000 mile Federal Emissions Warranty.

The Mopar Maximum Care Extended Warranty is bumper to bumper. You can purchase different limits depending on your driving habits.

Jeep Wrangler's eTorque Mild Hybrid Technology Warranty Information
The 2019 and 2020 Jeep Wrangler comes backed by a 5-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, which covers the cost of all parts and labor needed for repairing a covered powertrain component – engine, transmission and drive system. Additionally, it covers any necessary towing to the nearest Jeep dealer. For users who sell their Wranglers during the warranty period, the coverage is transferable to the new owner.

The standard three-year/50,000-mile Basic Limited Warranty delivers bumper-to-bumper coverage for the 2019 and 2020 Jeep Wrangler, from the body to the electrical system.

In addition, as part of the Basic Limited Warranty, the Federal Emission Warranty covers the following parts of the eTorque system for 7 years/70,000 miles, whichever comes first.

  • EGR Cooler — 2.0L and 3.6L engines
  • Fuel Tank Assembly — 2.0L and 3.6L engines
  • Transmission Control Module — 2.0L and 3.6L engines
  • Turbocharger — 2.0L engine
Further, as part of the Basic Limited Warranty, the Federal Emission Warranty covers the following parts of the eTorque system for eight years/80,000 miles, whichever comes first.

  • Belt Driven Hybrid Starter Generator — 2.0L and 3.6L engines with BSG (If Equipped)
  • Catalytic Converter — 2.0L and 3.6L engines
  • Powertrain Control Module — 2.0L and 3.6L engines
  • Power Pack Unit — 48 Volts 2.0L and 3.6L engines with BSG (If Equipped)
The "Warranty Coverage at A Glance" graph in the 2019 and 2020 Wrangler Standard Factory Warranty Booklet provides an overview perspective of the above described eTorque warranties on the Wrangler from 1 year/12,000 miles through 8 years/80,000 miles.

These components are not covered by any Mopar Vehicle Protection extended service warranty plan at the time of this publishing.

This is an improvement over the 2018 2.0T, I will review mine. Mine is 3/36, Bumper to Bumper, so the 2019 up increases the mileage to 50,000.
The 2019 up Turbo is added, I want my 2018 "grandfathered" in !

Unless you’re worried about the turbo, these MaxCare extended warranties don’t cover the hybrid components.

Clay Robbins said the MaxCare Warranty does cover the eTorque components. Would not hurt to double check though.

His information contradicts Clay Robbins email reply to me about coverage. Robbins said the eTorque components ARE covered. I would research a little more to be sure.

It’s not listed in the actual warranty booklet...

And that's EXACTLY the expensive stuff most likely to fail ...the Maxcare has changed, not in a good way for certain purchasers. Trading, while equity is high , will be more cost efficient than keeping for long term, unless warranties change.
Note that the better warranty is for 2019 - 2020, the 2018 doesn't get the better coverage at all.

There has been no change in coverage in 2019 - 2020, from a 2018. It’s all the same.

Federal Emissions Warranty covers the eTorque system for 8 years/80K miles.

I would call the underwriter and get confirmation if anyone is interested in the Max Care.

Yes and no.

Parts of eTorque are covered but not all of it. That’s like saying the “exhaust system is covered” but the catalytic converter is the only covered component.

As post #17 shows from FCA’s Warranty booklet... The Federal Emissions Warranty specifically lists only two items directly related to eTorque.

- “Belt Driven Hybrid Starter Generator”
- “Power Pack Unit - 48 Volts”

...but there is much more to the system than just that. What about the battery’s cooling system? Or the regenerative braking system? Etc.

The Bumper to Bumper for the 2018 is 3/36 ; the 2019/2020 gets 3/50,000 , according to the information in post #18.
If the 7/70 coverage and the 8/80 for Emissions components are the same for 2018 and later, that's good. I believe the circulation pumps and all related parts are included in the Power Pack UNIT description

There is a lot of wrong information in post #18. I don’t know where he got it from, but it wasn’t from any FCA warranty document. It’s just starting bad internet rumors

The basic coverage has not changed, it’s still 3yr/36k for 2019-2020 models. Which can be seen in the FCA warranty booklet link in post #17 and also on the window stickers. Here is a 2020

https://www.chrysler.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=1C4HJXFG7LW234070

The water pump for the battery’s cooling system shows separate from the 48V pack. I wouldn’t count on it being covered under Federal but It’ll be a few more years until we see this stuff start failing outside the 5/60 coverage and then seeing what they will actually cover.

The document was from https://www.chryslerfactoryplans.com/

You are correct there is a error for the warranty limits in that document. Sorry for any misunderstandings. I looked at my '19 booklet and it's 12 months /12K miles adjustments and wear items like wires, brakes, clutch. 3year/36 miles bumper to bumper. 5 year/60K miles power train. My book shows the Turbo is covered under power train for 5 years/ 60K miles.

There has been conflicting information from different Mopar Warranty vendors and dealers. I contacted a couple of warranty guys and am waiting for the most recent Max Care coverage sheet. I am also waiting to hear back from Mopar.

They also said no Federal Emissions components are covered under any Mopar Extended Warranty. You get whatever FCA offers under the EPA guidelines. This is for all engines.

I would highly recommend confirming coverage with the underwriter for any Extended Warranty policy.
