Hi all...just bought an 18 JL Unlimited Sport 4 door and am looking to put a 2.5" lift on it. I looked and priced the MOPAR kit at about $2200 dealer installed. 4 wheel parts has the Rubicon Express kit with Fox Shocks (same as MOPAR kit) for $1500 installed. Anyone know if there is some specific reason to pay more for the MOPAR kit? The link for the Rubicon Express kit is below. It doesn't show it with the Fox shocks, I had 4 wheel parts price it with those instead. Thanks in advance for the help!.

I'm looking at the same two options... interested in this discussion. I think the Mopar lift has a little better warranty but you probably pay for the name more than anything.

I drove one today w/the 2" Mopar lift and it road well. Didn't take it up to highway speeds. With the 37's and 2" Mopar lift.. total lift was 4-4.5" over my stock Rubicon JL.

What else, if anything, are you looking to do when you do the lift? What size wheels? I'm looking at 37's.

I am putting 35's on with the lift. From what I'm told, the JL Unliimited and 2.5" lift will handle 35's. The Rubicon with same lift can go 37's. The MOPAR kit comes with the FOX shocks and I had 4 wheel parts price teh Rubicon Express witht the same shocks. So that pretty much just leaves the springs as the only variable. I can't see there being a big difference. MOPAR doesn't manufacturer their own springs.

with 37's.. what about the need to reprogram/regear? seems to be mixed thoughts online on it.

I have the RE kit. I talked to them about it while at the LB off-road show. They said the springs are 5% stiffer than stock, helping with extra weight (winch, big spare tire). I drove it a while with shock extensions and OEM shocks as the RE shocks weren't available. it worked pretty well. I ended up finding Mopar Fox shocks and that firmed up the ride nicely. I have since gone from stock wheels with 35's to fuels with 37s and couldn't be happier. I also talked to the Fox people while at the show, they said the Mopar shocks are not the same as the off the shelf 2.0s. They have many hours of R&D time in the Mopar shock, and the body is steel, not aluminum like the Mopar, and the piston diameter is 1/2" smaller.

I would guess they perform very similarly if the Mopar shocks were used.

The shocks that come with the RE kit are not the same shocks as the Mopar kit. They are the smaller shocks that are available everywhere. The Fox shocks that come with the Mopar kit are ONLY in the Mopar kit. They are considerably larger diameter than the other Fox shocks.

Is it just me or does it look like the front is considerably taller than the back?
Did you measure to both fender flares before and after the lift?

I didn't, but it does appear a little higher, likely because of the expected weight of steel bumper and winch. maybe the front bumpers are higher?

I just installed the Mopar 2" and I'm running 35s - I have a JLUR. My 35s look like the stock 33s again... and the ride still feels stock.

Also found it on Amazon for $1,100 - 24 month finance and NO TAX - can it get any better than that? Nope.
