He might be misinformed. The Halogen JLs come with a 3 pinned harness at the light and the LEDs have a 4 pins. To my understanding there’s nothing Jeep has released that would allow halogen models to upgrade to the OEM LEDs yet.
He said he saw the same part number for both light models harnesses. I explained the 3 pin vs 4 pin difference and he said he couldn’t find an answer as to why they would be the same harness.

No clue why they have the same PN. There’s supposed to be a complete kit being sold by Mopar that should come with a new harness to make the LEDs function properly. I’m assuming a flash might be needed but who knows until we actually see it.

He's probably looking at a single piece of the harness, such as the 6 pin connector, instead of the harness.

I am hoping somone will have a plug and play to go to LEDS from halogen, I’m not a fan of cutting into side marker lights and splicing things together, I would rather have a water tight connector

I have done the same as you I purchased the Mopar led and had someone install I even had dealer flash most of the time it works but do you get occasional flicker of the light and it even go off?
Yeah I do

In order to make the Halo works, according to the wiring diagram, you have to add a wire from headlight connector pin 5 to Body control module BCM connector C1A pin 7 for left Halo, pin 5 for right Halo. And then I am pretty sure you will need to let the dealer to program the Halo function in BCM.

Or you can just tap a low amp fuse, and use it to drive the halo. I tap the power mirror 10a fuse to drive both halo since I don’t adjust my power mirror a lot, so the circuit will be more stable/consistent. I measured the current on the halo circuit is about 0.6A, so I used add a 1A fuse to kinda protect the halo circuit. So far so good. I also upload two pics of my high and low beam patterns.

Awesome that you were able to get this figured out! Would you happen to know if this is the same procedure for the Sport S? And does this still require dealer or tazer jl flashing?

So do the high beams still not work right?

I'm with you. I've been waiting for 6 months on this. But I'm not tinkering with it.

I’m in the same boat, and decided to make a harness with some diodes that would allow the low beams to fire when the high beams are on for the OEM Mopar LED lights (instead of just firing the high beams).

While the harness does the job, I have a new problem. It seems that the BCM control module likes to kill power to both high beams occasionally, leaving me with no lights for a few seconds. This leads me to think I need to trick the computer into thinking I am still running the stock halogen lights by adding load resistor.

If it works I can post some photos and parts needed for anyone who wants to build their own harness.

Do you think you could post a link to the parts you used it maybe do a write up on how to make the hardest I’ve been trying to figure out how to get the highbeams to work right for a while now. Thanks.

I can post the parts list and some photos tomorrow. High beams are still cutting out, resistors did not help. Checking with Superchips to see if their tuner can configure my Sport to LED headlights.

Black wire - Ground
Red wire - Low beams
Blue wire - High beams
Red wire (coiled, not used) - Halos

Parts:
2x Molex Connectors (33482-3601) - To factory harness
3x Molex M Pins (33000-0001 MX150 M 14-16AWG R) - Pins for factory harness
2x Molex Connectors (33472-601) - To Mopar LED headlights
4x Molex F Pins (33012-2001 MX150 F 14-16AWG R) - Pins for LED headlight
10x Molex Plugs (34345-0001) - Blanks to cover unused pins
2x Vishal Schottkey Diodes (V30100CI-M3/P) - To allow low beams to fire with high beams, but not vice-versa

The diode allows inputs from either the high or low beam (harness side) to power the low beams (headlight side). It also prevents current from flowing to the high beams when only the low beams are selected.

This setup works perfectly outside the vehicle with a normal 12v battery, however there are issues caused, presumably by the body control module (BCM) when in the vehicle where power is cut to the high beam signal, which kills both the high and low beam. Since this issue is intermittent and occurs at the same time for both sides, and both sides are on seperate circuits, I assume the BCM doesn’t like the low power draw when high beams are on. It is expecting 60 watts, but the real power draw with LEDs is around 40 watts with both the high and lows beams on.

If anyone has ideas on ways to fool the BCM into thinking the Jeep is equipped with the LED lighting package, I would appreciate any input.

@hive85 that harness looks great. Maybe with Tazer setting headlights to LED will solve your issues.

Does the halo work as well?
