Having trouble getting the bolt through the arm. How did you all go about this. I have pushed on the Jeep and still can’t get it to line up
I had the front up on jack stands. I don't recall which combination it took but I could raise one end of the axle and lower the other end until the holes lined up.

I always try moving the tire first. If that's not enough then I'll use the ratchet strap/bumper method or use a jack to adjust it. Just always be sure to torque the control arms bolt with the tires on the ground and the weight of the jeep on the suspension.

So today I finally swap my stock LCA with Mopar lift LCA, my JL is currently at stock height, but I hope that slightly longer LCA can give me a bit more caster. Also, it is Mopar so the dealer can't tell I swapped unless they look at it under a microscope.

As you can see in the picture, Mopar lift LCA is slightly longer than the stock LCA (measured by about 1/4 inch). In case you are interested in doing this mod, the part number for Mopar lift LCA is 68322798AA. If you want to use a new set of bolts and nuts, they are 6512085AA (bolt, M16-1.5x104mm) and 6104720AA (nut). The torque specs are 190 ft-lb. The 103 and 125 ft-lbs floating around the internet are from the old JK smaller bolt and nut specs, JL has a larger bolt so the torque should be much higher.

Some tips for your installation:

(1) Tools, tools, tools! Breaking free LCA requires a 21 mm deep socket and 24 mm wrench, since the space is really limited under the car, you need to have an impact wrench that can deliver good torque.

(2) The new LCA will be longer, so you need to jack up the frame slightly (shown in another picture, please ignore the crappy bottle jack setup, I am just too lazy to pull my 3-ton). This will move axle forward and help align the holes.. Once you push one side in, the other side should be easy since the axle is already moved.

(3) I put a tiny bit of anti-seize in the LCA mount, does not hurt to have a little bit.

Update: not sure if it is placebo, but my Rubicon now tracks super straight, I can keep it straight at 70 mph with one finger. I will do an alignment next week to see how much caster I gain but it is definitely a much improvement.
I love this thread. I'm convinced - I'm swapping out the factory LCA for the Mopar slightly longer ones when my Jeep arrives (2023 Willys XR on order).

And I'm loving this whole JL Forum - you guys will take a simple topic (like Mopar LCAs) and run with it for pages and pages.

But in the second picture, it looks like you're using bricks to add height and support your jack.

NO-GO!!!!

Bricks or concrete blocks can be crushed, crumble, or disintegrate - bad things will happen - especially if you're under the vehicle. Not safe.

Buy a 4x4 fence post and cut it into 8" lengths if you need to have something to lift and support your bottle jack.

I really like this Hi-Lift base. I keep it in the vehicle and works as a great bottle jack support. Was able to grind a bit off to fit my jack perfectly. Also agree 4x4 is safe for jacking, you can jack a tire up and place 4x4 under tire (all 4 tires) to also give a higher vehicle height for working underneath while keeping the weight of vehicle on the suspension.

Two good things happened today.

1. My Mopar longer LCAs arrived today.

2. My Jeep is in production!

Hopefully it'll get built and delivered in the next few weeks.

The Mopar LCA are the best bang for your buck. I didn't have any line up issues when I install mine.
I swapped the LCA with the wheels on the ground. Whichever side I worked on just turn the wheel to the opposite side for better access to the front LCA bolt and no issues lining the bolts up.

Amazing post, lot of info here. I just got my 2023 JLUS and just came here because the steer is very unresponsive (compared with other vehicles i had). Only "mod": installed 275/70/18 ko2 at the dealer, NO lift.
Can you tell me exactly which part # do i have to buy to fix this? The Mopar LCA, two of them? (I´m new in the Jeep world but i´m loving it!!)

I recently ordered, I believe they are sold individually. Wound up being about $80 for both.
My mistake. You are correct sir. Been a while since I ordered mine.

Do you need an alignment after this swap?
Only if you want to see what your caster is set at after the swap, but no alignment will be needed.
