Put the half-doors on today. Thought I’d post some pics. Haven’t had it in any rain yet so I’ll report back on that, but the initial fit is pretty tight. Going to drive it later, so will report back later this evening about the wind noise, etc....

Did you order the half doors when you bought the Rubicon or did you order after you took delivery of the Rubicon? Definitely would love to hear the feedback on half doors. Live in Chicago but LOVE the look and feel of half doors. Awaiting delivery of my Sahara 4xe to replace my 2014 Sahara.

It was an option to get the dual-door group when ordering the 392. It was one of the options I chose, and they were packed in boxes in the back of the jeep when it showed up on the truck.

Love the doors, but those uppers...
I must have missed the two piece windows on the front on the earlier release pictures. That seems odd. The black against the white is quite a contrast and might be throwing it off a bit. They look great on the white without the windows. I think most people will just keep the windows in the back in case they need them. That is what I did with my TJ and it worked out well.

I agree. I like it better withou the uppers, but I have a soft/summer top combo I’m going to put on, and I’m sure it’ll be better when everything up top is black.

Yeah I agree, I just wanted to show all options, plus I’m going to put on a soft top which will pull it all together I believe.

I really like the look of them, but agree it looks a bit wonky here. I think (as you point out) that the white on black is pretty stark. I also think that if you had a black top instead of the body color, it would be less stark there, too.

I guess my question is, is there a major difference between the half doors and just driving with the windows rolled down on the full doors?

Thanks so much for posting all these pictures. I am waiting for my white Rubicon with half doors to be built and it’s super awesome to see some pictures while I wait.

By the way, there are about five of us with orders of half doors Jeeps that are noticing delays in our Jeep builds.

EDIT: Here is what it should look like with the soft top. This is how I ordered it.

It looks great with the soft top and just fine with the hard top, hope I did not sound critical as that was not my intention.. My first TJ was white. It was a 1997 and I ordered it in 1996, turned out it was number 25 off the line and was used in one of the Jeep commercials! Unfortunately, that Jeep did not have a happy ending... 3 end over end rolls, hit a tree in air and then barrel rolled 2.5 times...

Definitely a more open feeling with the half doors w/o uppers, vs full doors with windows down

I remember those hood bras era... ha ha

I don't understand the benefits of the half doors. Why are they so popular? Can someone explain?
It’s one of those things you just have to experience, but maybe it’s not for you.

Okay... So that makes sense.

At least these OEM half doors are the same color as the Jeep. That makes a big difference.

For me, its a good compromise between rolling the windows down & removing the entire door. We plan to spend a lot of time on easy dirt road & back country roads. The half door gives you a lot of the doorless feel but still has some protection. At least, that's why I chose to add half doors to my order. Also, the doors will be factory colored with mirrors & proximity door handles. Just tube doors can run close to $1,500 for a set of 4. I won't call the half doors cheap, but there is value to them vs trying to buy them after the fact.

thanks for posting. I love the look of them without the uppers, but definitely looks best on black when the uppers on. ultimately left them off my order but I am going back and forth on whether that was the right decision. congrats on your 392.
