Ah well, replacement is an option, or you can be the first to report whether or not Fox will rebuild them.

I emailed for two days ago, so will report back! Hoping for the $75 service!

I was thinking when I inspected the shocks I did not see a way to unscrew the shock body, in the past I have seen two notches for a float/spanner wrench on shocks that can be rebuilt.

Those two holes you may be referring to are on factory series stuff. The cap still comes off, just not threaded in. This photo may help:

Good info, thanks! So I am betting these can be rebuilt, but will report back.

Yes, IFPs will need to be sent to Fox for service.

Unfortunately we do not service those IFP shocks. Standard Fox 2.0 IFP shock is only $180/each, so often times it not worth a rebuild vs getting brand new shocks.

I actually just called fox last week because I was wanting to know the something as you.

They are definitely rebuildable by Fox. I was quoted about $120 a piece.

The real cost is what to do for the time that your Jeep has no shocks installed.

Thanks for the info! I emailed Fox since I am out for the holidays. Good to know it’s $120.

I have a extra set of Bilstein 5100’s I can run while the one is being serviced.

Quick update:

I received a reply from Fox
  1. Cost to rebuild one Mopar Fox 2.5 shock is $126.
  2. Fox recommends a full rebuild of these shocks at 10k miles if the vehicle is driven 50/50 on-road and off-road.
  3. As long as the shock will compress fully and rebound fully on its own it is likely that the shock doesn't need a rebuild yet.
  4. Squeaks or sloshing may be normal for these shocks i.e. not an indicator of needing a rebuild.

So if the shock does not compress fully and rebound fully on its own they recommend not rebuilding it?

No, if the shock does not compress fully and rebound fully on its own they do recommend a rebuild.

Edited my original post to be clearer.

How many miles did they go for before they got to this point, that's the most important question :)

I bought my Mopar 2.5 shocks used with approximately 5,000-6,000 miles on them.
