So, last week, we bought a lightly used (just over 300 miles) 392 for more $20K under sticker at an out of state dealer. On this site, the Extended warranty offers from Zach at Granger look tempting ($25 over cost). I would have liked to give Zach the business,, but they don't sell the warrnties in FL or CA. We are in FL. The dealer we bought from wanted to sell us an extended warranty. I told them what others online (meaning Zach) sell them for. They offered to sell it slighly higher than Zach's price, which isn't bad. Mopar MaxCare 8 year / 125K miles, $200 deductible for $2865 from Zach. About $100 more from the dealer we bought from.
This same dealer also said for the same price, they could sell us a warranty from "Ally" that would be a 10 year / 150K miles / $200 deductble. They claim that Ally pays the dealer more for warranty work than Mopar does, and can be used anywhere (that has ASE certified mechanics) , and not just at dealers. They were really trying to convince us to get the Ally warranty. We had not heard of Ally, so we went with Mopar, as they said we can switch later. Has anyone used Ally or have experience / opinions on it? If it is as good as the genuine Mopar warranty, that would be the way to go, as it gives 2 more years and 25K more miles for the same price.
Thanks.
