Just received this email from JustforJeeps.com

I requested updates a year ago for when the unit would be available.

Looks like your best bet is to wait for Rugged Ridge at this point...

WoW I like that!

Makes more sense to put it there too!

No need to cut into hood just add a new a-pillar cowl.

I like it

What it "supposed" to look like under the hood, I'm waiting for this also.

Oh hell yeah!!

Maybe that's why Mopar may have pulled the plug...bad design?

What's the point of that? It looks nice. In a way. I suppose. But I don't understand why you would want it. It looks to be at about the same height as the stock intake, I don't see any kind of pre filter, so I don't understand the point of it. Maybe if you could attach a proper snorkel and/or precleaner then run it as shown when you want to lower your windshield....
Not sure if I already mentioned, there is the snorkel part of that setup on the passenger seat that could be detached...

What is the point of running without snorkel? While I'm skeptical myself, it does draw colder air from outside rather than warmer air from inside the hood, how much difference that makes, I don't claim to know.

please elaborate, cold air intake as in snorkel or just the cut on the side of hood?
I'm not sure, if you go to build a sport altitude or a sahara altitude on the Jeep website it has the option to add "Cold Air Intake by Mopar" for $495, sales code "JFF". If you click on "more details" it doesn't say anything more.

I received this from them yesterday.
Good afternoon John,

The snorkel is still in design stage, and we are hoping for a late summer or early fall release.

The Mopar CAI is now on it's 3rd revision - current part # is 77072433AC. Replaces 77072433, 77072433AB.

Here's to hoping it becomes available for a nice stocking stuffer.
