Looking for info from anyone with the Mopar simulated or functional beadlock. I have found a few pics and several questions on offset and simulated vs functional ring. Looking for info on quality, function, stance, etc. I like the OE look. But at that price, maybe there are subjectively better options.

I’ve run the MOPAR beadlocks for almost 2 years now - simulated until about a month ago. I really like them but I’m sure I’m somewhat biased. The tires stick out enough to provide protection for the fender when wheeling. The functional beadlocks were a breeze to install. Although, I’m not sure if that’s a result of the wheels or tires.

The simulated rings took a beating when I wheeled and never rusted. The functional rings have taken some shots and are still fine as well. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the bolt heads are exposed and will likely take some abuse.

I’ll buy them again if I need a new set of wheels. Personally, I like the looks and backspacing/offset of these wheels.

The wheels are great. The valve stem is protected which is a big deal if you off-road. Seen others catch a stem and have it yanked out/damaged when rock crawling. Virtually no chance of that happening with these wheels.

Simulated protection ring does a good job. I have hit mine a few times and while yes there are some scrapes on the ring, the actual wheel has never received damage.

I’ve decided to move to some KMC Beadlocks, and I’m a little sad because I like the looks of the mopars way more than the KMC’s. I’ve decided to get into harder rock crawling so wanted a true Beadlock and got a good deal on these. I’m kinda wishing I’d just gotten the mopar Beadlock rings and called it a day.

Anyhow, I’ll have a set of the mopars available in a couple weeks near Denver.

I'm super happy with mine, but personally I wish they had the stock offset. They DO throw rocks and pecker up the paint in short order and mud flaps are a must.

The rings are aluminum and I had them powder coated to match. The extra offset increases the width of the rig and I swear it handles better in the faster highway curves.

I'd buy again...

I have them since I purchased my Rubi from dealer. They are awesome. Best looking and easy to clean. Your hand fits right through the the openings for cleaning. I have 5000 miles on them so far. They have the trim ring which is great. Just make sure to order them through the dealer and let them install them for obvious reasons. I would send a picture of them on my Rubi but don’t know how. The tpms was a straight swap from the original Rubi wheels to the Mopar beed locks. They are pricey but you get what you pay for. Quality was outstanding considering China was on the boxes.

Curious what the 'obvious reasons' are for ordering through a dealer and having them install?

They aren't real beadlocks in most cases, and really any reputable shop should be able to handle the install. Regarding warranty, they won't be protected by the factory warranty, but rather by the Mopar Performance Parts warranty which is different, and would be applicable regardless of whether the dealer or a different reputable shop did the install.

I love them.

Pain in the ass because you don't want a tire buster taking 25 bolts per wheel off that require torquing every time you need a tire change. Worth it though.

I did 2 trips,
First trip to have the tire installed
Second trip to bring them back with the rings installed and torqued for a balance.

Install and torque the rings yourself, hardened steel bolts into aluminum can get nasty if you don't
do it yourself.

Tires can't be changed with the rings on, regardless of which way you have them mounted.

They are real beadlocks but have both options for DOT issues. Ford Raptor has the same thing.

I'll be switching to beadlock on these wheels when i get the prorock44's in.

we have a set sitting on a pallet. Needed to swap to a true beadlock before our big trip and couldn’t get the beadlock rings in time. I liked them, worked great with an MC lift but rubbed the control arms on the RK arms

From looking at everyone's pics, they really have the stance I want. I'm curious if the extra 1/2" width is enough to comfortably mount a 12.5" tire. From the pics,

Sitting on a pallet?! That's no place for them. Let me know if you need me to get them out of your way.

I'm not surprised on the RK arms. I've heard that with some others that are on the lower backspacing end of the spectrum. I think I'm going with MC arms anyway. Thanks for that info though. Thats one of the things I was wondering is if there was enough clearance. I think they're good though. Spec says 4.4" of backspacing. Northridge says 5". I think anything with 4.5" is good if I understand, is that right?

Who painted/powder coated your rims? Cost? I just got a set in and went to a recommended shop.... they wanted $200.00 EACH just to paint them. For that price I'm going to just let them stay silver.

I took the cowling piece off the drivers side aft hood for a paint match sample and had them painted 2 stage base/clear. At the same time I had the 3 pieces that surround the mopar flat black grille done.

Body shop charged $250 for 5 rings and 3 grille trim parts.

Powder coat is stronger, but finding a perfect match will be hard and it still won't hold up to rock damage. I'm ordering the other rings and will get them painted too.

Body shop did a great job.

I need to find another shop. The second one I talked to also was afraid of painting them, saying he might not get the paint to hold n that he couldn’t scuff up in the bolt hole areas to get the paint to hold :/
