The cost of "quality" LED lights have surprised me. This is a little off thread topic but with everything I have read here, Is the LED Lighting Group worth the $895 up-charge when ordering a JL?
i've got it. the lights are good. is it worth $900? probably not, but most "options" from a dealer
are not value priced. i bought a unit off the lot, and it is what it is.
however, you are getting LED"s all around. front bumper as well.

the lights are pretty freaking bright. the rear backup lights are not so much.
i'll probably add some led's in the pockets where the rear bumper reflectors
are located at, and wire them to the backup lights.

let's just quit screwing around here, and throw down.
way back when, i had a pair of salvage C-130 landing lights
on a 1965 econoline van, with a 24 volt power supply.

the engine had to be running when you turned them on.
it was impressive, if impractical.

taxi lights off a C 130 would be more appropriate. here we go...

For $895 if you can swing it, it's not even an option in my mind. Just as good as the JWs I had for half the cost. I had JW headlights, fogs, and tail lights I spent $1500+ if I remember correctly. If you can afford it you absolutely have to get them. I loved the output on the JWs but they always looked weird at night since the projector was like 3" inside the 7" case. My buddy had the KC trucklight looking lights with the halfmoon shape, his were great also.

As for affordable LEDs I'd go KC, their customer service is top notch.

Slightly off topic, but those of you running any combination of extra lights, do you have any issues going through a normal car wash? On my JK, I had the Maximus-3 hi-lift jack / mount along with a shovel. I went through a wash once and left them on there causing the washes spinny things to grip and tug the accessories like crazy, slightly bending the mounts. From then on I had to toss the parts in the trunk before any wash. Unfortunately the nearest touchless wash was 5 miles out of the way.

Wash by hand or touchless are the only way to go. Enough scraping on the trail, do you really want that with every car wash?

So, no I've never had that problem.

Rigid is junk. Baja Designs are hands down the best, toughest lights made.

are you happy now? i am. they *are* pretty freaking nice lights.
those, and two S2 pros for backup lights, with wiring harnesses
and tax was $1,760.

and before i hang them on for good, i have to get tamperproof screws.
these things won't make it two hours in a parking lot.

if anyone needs this mopar winch guard, i have one that is pristine, unmarred, and $100 to a good home.

the lights in the previous post required it's retirement.
If I hadn't already got mine...

It would be interesting to go directly to Tyri and see how much they sell them for. They are model 1313. I'm scared to call, I might get heart burn from the price difference.
I checked the Tyri site, model 1313 sells for $440

Is that for a set of two or each?
That is for one light, that model 1313 comes in 2 different lumens, 5000 = $440 per light 7000 = $480 per light

I have both 7 and 5. Great lights, very bright. I also have Rigid light bar and both are high quality.

Those 5" lights direct from the manufacturer(TYRI) are like $170 a piece

And here I was thinking maybe I should have gotten the 5" instead of the 7" for up front?

:surprised:

How are these mounted?
Remove one of the screws from the top of the bumper.
bolt down the yolk. add a 1/4-20 hole next to it for a
"no-spin" bold, bolt it all back together. i moved them
to the hole on the back of the bumper for more protection,
and they are now further apart. works better. from this photo,
they appear to block headlights. they don't. do they keep you
from hooking a snatch strap over the horns? yep. do i care? nope.
