Thank you John. That will do very well. :D

I haven't figured out what I'm doing with the license plate and hook yet.
it's pretty simple. put the license plate under the rear seat, where it won't get damaged.

put a factor 55 whatever on the rope, where it can soak up any money left over after
the lighting debacle.

enjoy your jeep.

Colorado requires the front plates sadly. :swear:

I got the JcrOffroad winch plate already. Will look into flip up plates so it doesn't hang low and lets me access the winch line when needed.

Here they are installed. Cost about a grand once you get the winch guard ~$225 the brackets at $50 and then the lights are $6-700 if I remember correctly. They are stupid bright, much brighter than my rigid D2s I had on the JK. I'll be getting more of the Tyri lights if they are.willing to sell them, they are top notch on quality. I thought Rigid was the best, not anymore.

Rigid is junk. Baja Designs are hands down the best, toughest lights made.

well, i get that you don't like rigid. the price point on those lights you do like is $660 each.
that's a fair bit of money. they should work well.
They are worth it though if you use your rig. Rigids will fog up the first time you take them through water.

odd the fellow doing this wouldn't name the light... it appears to be a D series rigid, but could also be a knockoff.

we shall assume it's a legitimate D series device. it is a compelling argument in favor of the baja designs.

I had D2s, SRs and a few other Rigids on my JK. They went through major rain storms, and ~20" water crossings with no water intrusion. I wouldn't call them junk, but I agree foggy lenses are unacceptable at this price point. Maybe I was lucky. but I never had any issues. I'll keep buying them until I have an issue. I did have major issues with the cheap Hanma ones I imported from China. We won't even get started on those.

well, one generally gets what one pays for.

a lot of time, you are paying for a name. and a marketing strategy.

Fluke meters come to mind in my case. i have a number of them
i use professionally. horribly overpriced. however, some of them
allow me to do things related in my profession in a few minutes
instead of hours. it allows me do do multiple jobs in a day where
i'd be stuck on one job from morning to night.

the stupid meter cost $3,000. it's realistically worth $800.
it increases my billable income by over six figures a year, easily.

the sticker shock associated with high end lighting luminaries,
and related controls for offroading pales in comparison to light
fixtures in commercial construction. and the controls are far worse.

$500 for a high end LED fixture isn't that uncommon, and people buy
buildings full of them.

brentwood, calif. high end boutique owned by gweneth paltrow.

light fixture in back of store. $77,000. that is not a typo.

we will NOT be dunking it in a vat of water on youtube to see if it's waterproof.

Great thread, guys. A lot of useful info here.

So, say I don't want to spend the money on the Mopar lights and want something cheaper, what do you all suggest? I know there's the "you get what you pay for" argument but I want something that fits my use case. I don't do crazy off roading. Admittedly, I am a weekend warrior so I don't need top of the line gear.

I was looking at PIAA led's and KC. Are these ok?

Thx in advance!

The cost of "quality" LED lights have surprised me. This is a little off thread topic but with everything I have read here, Is the LED Lighting Group worth the $895 up-charge when ordering a JL?

In the case of the LED headlights - I think so, they are high quality and street legal.
