I had a shop install a Mopar 2” lift kit on JL wrangler .
I don’t know much about this stuff but I have a few questions .

1.) when I got back home and went over a speed bump the back feels like it’s slamming and metal is hitting , almost like there’s no spring or shock absorption . ( the front feels good )
Any idea what that is ?

2.) for anyone that has the lift I saw online that the shocks with the black plastic was to be in the back of the JL to protect against rocks etc , However they’re installed on the front and he’s telling me that’s how it’s suppose to be . So am I wrong or are they ?

3,) lastly I don’t notice the bump stops on the back of the JL installed . Could that cause issue ?

Point 2: black plastic is at the back for mine...

hey buddy, yes your lift is all messed up, I see you’re in Claremont, I’m in citrus county if you wanted to make the drive, I’d be happy to help you out with it.

The shocks are backwards, the springs are side specific, blue passenger, red drivers. And you’re right you’re missing rear bump stops.

What shop?
1. Do your own work or find a reputable shop that you trust.
2. Don't buy lifts from oem.

Wow, blows my mind how many bad installs are happening. Kudos to you for not just blaming it on a lousy Mopar lift. This install should have you wondering about every detail. Are the front bumpstops installed and the lower end of the spring seated properly? A close photo from the front and I could tell. I see that the front upper coil isolator pad looks improperly installed. When proper there should be a locating tab in that empty hole on top of the coil cup.

Wow! Contact Service Mgr IMMEDIATELY. Get you money back for the labor at a minimum. Not sure I would even let them fix it. All kinds of messed up. Sorry you are having to deal with a poor install. You will get lots of help here. If you are close I would help you sort it out.

haha. You might be right on the shocks. which means mine are installed wrong too. ha. interesting.

I've already gone back for a lose front bumpstop. and then later for a lose sway bar link in the front. AND for a rear sway bar link that was installed on the wrong side of the bracket. haha. Blows my mind.

Thanks. I found a couple install videos and see that now.

Opinion question... I know they're different. How different? I'm not taking it back to the same dealer for this, or at least I don't think I should. This was also their first Mopar lift they had ever done. I've already been back for 3 things. I've driven for 3 months and never noticed anything. Should I swap them myself? Is it hurting anything?

Thanks to the OP. I would never have known. I just thought they left the rock guards off the back shocks.

Was this a dealership that did this?
No not a dealership . Unfortunately the dealership by me is horrible and there service department has the worst reviews I’ve seen so I opted out . I guess it didn’t matter lol cause it’s still wrong.
The next closest dealership is an hour away .

This is the most jacked up install I have ever seen!!! Yes the plastic sleeves go out back and yes you’re missing the bump stop extensions that came with the kit as well as the bump stops
