We took a weekend Overland trip to Molydenite Ridge near the town of Lilloet in Southwestern British Columbia. To get there we travelled through the Hurley Mountain Pass north of Pemberton and visited the gold rush era towns of Gold Bridge and Bralorne in the Chilcotin mountain range. We spotted 1 black bear and 1 grizzly at different intervals along this route.
Upon reaching Lilloet we drove up a valley to access Molybdenite Ridge. Molybdenite Ridge is an extremely steep-sided and narrow shelf road (one of the only true shelf roads in BC). The road is only passable by 1 vehicle at a time so we needed to wait at the bottom with binoculars watching for any vehicles coming down. When the coast was clear we proceeded, and ended up at 8300 feet elevation. The views of the valley and mountains were spectacular.
On the way home we were hit by intermittent rain storms which hindered our travel, the rain was so strong at times that we had to pull over on the highway until it subsided. Hoping to document the next trip a little bit better
