Very cool! Have traveled once along that coastline when my wife and I drove from Abilene, TX, to Everett, WA, to visit my brother and wife who worked for Boeing at the time. We came through the deserts of west Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California, working our way up CA until we popped out of the Napa Valley and got onto Hwy 101. Took that the rest of the way up. Really enjoyed that trip, and the coastline was awesome, with its rugged rocks, fog rolling in, all the lighthouses, etc. Very cool. Need to go back up there sometime.this is the beach up where it gets cut off at high tide, smugglers cove is beyond but high tide seals it
big wind surfing area, seen dozens at times, not a lot of sand access south of coos bay
north of coos bay miles of coastal sand access and sand dunes in general
