All cleaned up.

Wife is noticing the drop in gas mileage. Expected and will be dealt with in February when we do a re-gear to 4.88. Also planned for that time frame is a rear bumper w/Tire Carrier.

With the tires and lift, what is the height of the Moab now? I"m thinking of doing something similar but worried about clearing the garage.
I haven't measure the overall height but it fits in a standard garage just fine!

Picked up my Moab on Friday. Brought it to the beach today for some play time!

Saw your post about the trip to the beach in stock MOAB. Stock 255/75R 17s still on? How did it do in the sand with the stock tires - did you air down? Sand looks pretty packed there - did you get into any soft sand? 4WD or 4WD Hi? Would like to hear your impressions before heading to the beach in the spring. Thanks!

How does switching to 4.88 rear end improve gas mileage. That seems counter-intuitive to me. Also, was speedo recalibrated when tires were upgraded? If not, that would have a direct impact on both mph reading and mpg accuracy.

A regear to 4.88 will get the gears closer to what is needed for 37" wheel / tire combo. Our Moabs are geared 3.45.

And the Speedo has been calibrated.

Is it reasonable to conclude that when I upgraded my Moab's factory installed KM2's (approx 32ÂĽ) to the standard Rubicon KO2's (approx 32â…ž) that a regear is not necessary?

You'll be fine. Many have moved to the Rubi KO2's without issue.

ok. So who has done lockers? I've read through most of this thread over the last 9 months, but frankly I can't remember if I've seen anyone that has done lockers.

If you've done lockers, what brand did you use? What setup? What cost?

I added Mopar 82215351 Jeep Wrangler Grille and Winch Guard to my steel bumper today. I bought it to mount some lights to it, still deciding which ones to buy, but won't be installing those till the weather gets a little warmer anyway. Even without the hardware on top of it, still looks pretty nice in my opinion.

It was $189 on Amazon. Best price I've seen online as of yet, that's why I snatched one up. Still overpriced for such a small piece of metal, but it is Mopar....
