When I installed it I was looking down to see where I would need to reach up to grab it. It looks like you have a decent amount of room to get your arm up there. I’ll have to give it a try. Only problem I see is that if the can is on really tight you might not be able to do it from underneath.
The drain plug on the bottom of the can is also still an option, just need to put something under it to catch the blow-by so it doesn't go all over the diff.

Thanks!

We still recommend pulling the two bolts and clamps from the intake tube an accessing the can from up top, but I am curious to see if @Minty JL or @Turbo_punkn have tried reaching up from the bottom. I'm rather lanky, so me trying would probably be a false-positive :)

That would be cool! I'll let you know if we can make it happen!

Thanks everybody,
-Steve
Well Steve I'll be the beta for the reach and drain.

Also, yeah let me know about the visit.....I'm game if you are.

Forgot to answer that in my last post, sorry! We're going to be ending the pre-sale in late August. I'll give you guys a heads-up a week before the end of the pre-sale too.

The engine side uses a quick-disconnect for the connection to the intake and connects to the factory CCV hose with a barb and worm gear clamp (the factory hose is a QD at the engine). The connections at the catch can are hose-barb and worm gear clamps. There's really no need to charge you guys more for quick-disconnects on the can side as you should never need to remove them—even if you remove the can, you can just leave the lines connected to the can and remove the entire kit with 2 bolts :)

Here's the install video:

Thanks!
-Steve

So I need to remove the intake to empty out the catch can each time? How does the waste oil gets disposed?

What is the frequency to empty out the can?

Hey Armando,

A few different methods for draining have been discussed in the thread—we recommend removing the intercooler pipe as outlined in our install video (just the pipe, not the airbox.) If you drain it that way, you don't have to remove the intake air temp sensor, just remove the two bolts and worm gear clamps from the intake pipe and pop it off. It may also be possible to remove the can bottom from below, or drain it through the drain plug, as other suggested previously.

How frequently you need to empty the can will depend on several variables. We include a 7.5 oz bottom to extend the drain interval, but we recommend checking it after 1,000 miles to see how much blow-by your engine is producing.

Thanks!
-Steve

Have you considered replacing the drain plug with a hose fitting, a drain hose, and a cap on the drain hose that is easier to access when under the vehicle like most motorcycles use on their airboxes?

I'm thinking about a Fumoto like valve on bottom of the oil can and a length of tubing off that vavle. That way for an oil change just put a container under the tube and flip the valve....

Will also be pressure sealed so not CIL and other fun.

I use a Femco valve for the oil pan but would be a pain to thread it on to bottom of the catch can every 1000 miles or so.
