Backstory:
Learned to drive at 12 or 13 in a CJ5 Golden Eagle with a V8 and a 3 speed on back roads and pastures in rural Oklahoma. Finally turned 16 and my stepdad quickly shifted gears to never allowing a teenager to drive his Jeep again! He said a CJ5 (with a four wheel drive) is no vehicle for teenage guy on his own, but nonetheless the bug was there.
I've wanted a Jeep since those summer nights driving across a field, but for one reason or another just never pulled the trigger (too broke in college, not practical as a young professional, started a family and have babies to haul around), but now I'm 42 and my kids just turned 6 and 4 and the most miraculous thing happened. My 6yr old daughter said "Daddy I want to drive a Jeep when I'm old enough". I tried to hide my smile and said "I'll make you a deal, you can have a Jeep when you turn 16 but it's going to be 10yrs old when you get it".
Shortly after I placed an order for 2019 Billet Silver JLUR/3.6/Auto with a few other options, and started the wait. Well it showed up last Friday and the real fun now begins.
Phase 1 (all being installed April 8th
):
Rock Krawler 2.5" Adventure Series Lift
Falcon 3.3 Adjustable Shocks
Vision Se7en 17x9 Wheels (a little something custom to show later
)
Toyo RT 37x12.50R17 Tires
Roam Steps (might have to swap out down the road for RSE auto steps but hoping not)
Rugged Ridge Hinged Tire Carrier
And a few small misc goodies
Phase 2:
Bumpers- I just can't make up my mind or they would be Phase 1
