Many Jeepers have gotten away from CB radios and replaced them or added a GMRS style radio. Midland has all of there stuff on sale for 20% off.

I just bought this kit:

It is a 40 watt radio and with the right antenna, and right conditions, you can transmit up to 65 miles.

You wont get 65miles. Trust me i have one lol. On a clear open road we got about 15 miles clear. Better than cb by a long shot. And thats mxt400 to another mxt400. Sure do love it though super clear

I do not expect 65 miles. But with the handheld radios, I get about a mile. I am tired of carrying 4 batteries and charging batteries while out Jeeping.

I’ve been checking sites but have not found some definitive antenna mount info. Is there a nice bracket out there that doesn’t require drilling? Here on Maui drilling is a sure fire rust problem.

Thanks! I had ordered the MX115, cable and 6db whip antenna from amazon two weeks ago. I am going to return those and get the MX400, same cable and antenna using the 20% off. Basically get the better radio for ~$15 more.
