Decided not use these after installing a new HU. One pod has 4 small pilot holes drilled in the speaker mounting hole area, where speaker screws go and does not affect anything. These allow you to upgrade form the 4" to 6'5" knee speakers . It takes some effort removing the oem pods and installing these. I believe there's a youtube video.
