I know it's an old thread that was recently bumped up to the top, but anyone who's considering between these choices should look at the weights. 703s can be about five pounds lighter in JLU sizing.

Ended up getting the black. Didn't want to chance it with the other colours without seeing it in person first.
Nice! Yea I know the bronze looked awesome but always hard without checking it out in person.

That's a good point! I took that into consideration as well when deciding. It was a little surprising to me that a small design change makes such a difference in weight.

They are at the powder coat shop now. No crazy about powder coating a forged wheel but Method said it would be ok. IDK we will see

I would not powder coat anything but the ring, myself.

Looks like the contact points? On a headlock wheel? Would that not be normal wear and tear?

thats the only thing that worries me about black methods vs other brands. I’m hoping if I ceramic coat the wheels it’ll help that out but haven’t pulled the trigger to buy them yet.

Can anyone else share their experience with the black finish over time

I have had my matte black methods (703's) for just over 1.5 years now, and no issue with any of the finishing. They see almost as much salt (winter roads), sand, mud, and rock as they do road, and have been holding up just fine.

My be just the finish on the bead locks. The ring was the worst part but the wheel is chalky also. anyway just wanted to give you a heads up I love the wheels other than that
