Update #8 in my 2 door JL Rubicon build series...installing a Metalcloak UnderCloak. I've decided to start to posting the updates into the section of the forum that matches each new update.

Update 8 - https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/rcv-front-and-rear-axle-install.46606/
During the install for my 2 door, there were a couple of steps that were not in the instructions. Hopefully others that bump into these gaps, will find my post helpful. I did alert Metalcloak to the omissions and was informed that they will be addressed.
Before getting into the missing steps, I have a share a pic of the stock diff skid plate in top of the Metalcloak replacement. Like the axles, I know some portions of the Jeep have to be made to a budget. I just wish that more of the budget was allotted to protecting the tender bits underneath the Jeep.
Item 1:
Hole H1 on the diff skid plate install (see below) needs a hole drilled in the frame rail and the included rivnut needs to be installed. A step drill bit is what i used.
Item 2:
There are 2 studs on the front edge of the factory gas tank skid that need to be cut off. I heard it is possible that some parts have studs and some have nuts and bolts. As you can see behind my hand...the stock skid has seen a few touches.
Item 3:
On the battery skid installation steps, there is a bracket that needs to be removed. It is this bracket:
The finished Undercloak is a very robust system of interlocking and well supported plates. There is no doubt that the Undercloak system will provide far better protection to my investment than the stock parts.
