First post, just ordered a 2021 JLU Rubicon with the 6 and eTorque. I am coming from a supercharged TJ on one tons with an Atlas that I bought new in 97, so not new to wheeling or building.

I am ordering the Metalcloak 3.5 game changer lift kit and will get a new front driveshaft per their instructions at the same time. From my understanding their driveshaft has 1310's and other manufactures have 1350's. I am looking for feedback on the MC shaft compared to others. Also, if anyone has the new measurements for the shaft if they ordered one from another vendor, that would be great as well.

What size tire are you running?

I ordered the automatic. Had the 5 speed in the TJ and am ready to try an auto off road. I will also be running 37” tires to try to keep from exceeding the axle strength. Will truss the axles and put stronger shafts in them.

1310 with the 3.6 motor is fine for 37s according to Metalcloak and Adams . IMHO, 37s look smaller with the MetalCloak 3.5 lift...many get closer to 4" of lift and you can easily run 40s at that height. I'd go with their 2.5 lift with 37s if you want a more proportional look. My buddy runs 40s on a 2.5" lift with fender chop and I've seen several other builds on here running 40s with 2.5" lift.

Thanks for the info. I may upgrade the axles in a few years and go with 40's or 42's and that is why I am thinking 3.5 right out of the box.

Never seen that in writing...it's your dealer's call. Different dealers view mods differently. For example, the closest dealer near my house hates jeeps with mods that they didn't install. They wont even look at my jeep on 37s without a fee. Another dealer 30 min away where I bought my jeep has been super helpful and has fixed several things under warranty. I think the key is forming a good relationship with the service department. It can also help to go to the dealer where you bought the jeep as they seem to be more willing to help. I'd also recommend having "the mod discussion" with the service manager at the dealer where you're looking to buy BEFORE you purchase.

I purposely drive a bit further to the dealership to buy my JLU from because they are know to be lift friendly. In fact, many of the rental companies from Moab use the dealership and we are nearly 5 hours from Moab!

Go 3.5 for the additional clearance. I ran Adams on a JK build with success.
