My wife is pretty sure she wants to do the Metacloak 2.5" Gamechanger and is looking at wheels to go with the lift. She wants to be hub-centric and likes both the Icon Compression and Rebound in satin black. Would these wheels work well for that lift and give clearance from the shock mounts?
What backspace and what offset is ideal?

In order for folks to help, you should let us know the color, type of jeep and tire size. Even better post a side pic of the jeep and tire size.

For the outboard shock mounts you will need wheels with 4.5" or less backspacing, or use spacers. It's much easier to just have wheels with the proper backspacing though.

I have the Mopar Beadlock Capable Wheels and 37x12.50 Milestar Patagonia tires. I think the backspacing is 5”. I have the 3.5” GC lift. I went to Moab twice in February and wheeled it hard and never had rubbing due to the backspacing. I did rub on the rear wheel well liner but that’s not going to be different with a different backspacing. Tires stuffed into the fenders great and didn’t rub even at full lock. I run 3” of bumpstop.

Wish I had better pics for you but I had these ones handy. I only posted to clarify my experience with 5” backspacing.

Mopar says the BS on those wheels is 4.4".

Metalcloaks says 4.5" minimum BS for shock mount clearance.

@OnlyOne Believe it or not this is "almost" 100% her choices for this. :giggle: :fingerscrossed:
She wants the Jeep to continue to fit in our garage so that is why she is going with the 2.5 lift and 35's. She likes the Nitto Ridge tires. I advised her to make sure she has hub-centric and enough backspace to assure no rub. Metalcloak is about 4 miles from our house so having them do the lift work is going to be very easy.
@MarkY3130 I really like those Mopar wheels and have suggested them to her.

She likes these: https://iconvehicledynamics.com/wheel/11912/icon-alloys-compression/?finishID=1902
Backspace is 4.5 and offset is -6

@ChattVol since you asked... here is her Jeep:

I don’t know what to think about what Mopar says. On one hand they claim 17x8 with 4.4” backspacing. On the other hand, in the same sentence, they say it is +12mm offset. Those two numbers don’t match up. +12mm on an 8” wheel equals 4.97” of backspacing. Looks like 5” to my undiscerning eye so I go with that.

I know MC says 4.5” or less, but our JL rubicons already have longer axles and I believe that the rubicons can get away with more backspacing than a sport.

It get more confusing when they say it's a 8.5" wheel it mounted as a beadlock.

If it works, it works!

Here is an example of the 2.5” MC Game Changer with 17x8.5 wheels 4.5” backspacing and 0 offset.

Not that it makes too much of a difference because it’s only a 1/4” but if your wheels are zero offset they are not 4.5” backspacing. That would make them 4.75” backspacing.

Lift looks great btw.

You are correct and edited my post to reflect the change! I’m really enjoying the lift and ride comfort.
