About to pull the trigger on a MC Gamechanger 2.5 for my '21 Rubicon 2.0.

17" wheels / 37" tires

I'll be using their rocksport shocks.

Any recommendations on aftermarket driveshaft or is the one they sell with the package good?

Anything else I will probably need for this setup or does the kit have everything?

Thanks so much in advance! This is my first jeep and I'm still trying to soak up all the info.

That kit uses an outboard shock mount, so make sure your wheels are 4.5” backspace or less, otherwise you’ll have to use a wheel spacer to keep from rubbing.

They're 4.75...I misunderstood the kit specs then. I was under the impression that 4.5 or more would be fine. Thanks for pointing that out!

I have wheels that are 5.2 inch backspace. Is there anyway to do a metalcloak lift and keep them without spacers, or should I start shopping wheels?

Sorry not meaning to hijack here.

I just installed the 3.5 Gamechanger with Rocksport shocks. I have 4.75" backspacing on my wheels and I am not incurring any rubbing. I was told if you have a Rubicon their axles are slightly wider and therefore a slightly higher backspacing will be okay. Anything more than 4.75" I cannot comment on.

Interesting. Were you told this by MC? Can any others confirm? When you say no rubbing, are you talking at full flex, wheels turned, or around town? Thanks!

Not really, it depends on how much you’re rubbing, if Rubi then 5.2 won’t be rubbing very hard, might be able to adjust out your turn stops a little. Or run the shocks in the stock location without brackets. But then your shock may contact frame at extreme articulations. All are compromises to me, I just run a 4.5” backspace so I don’t have to worry about anything. I’m on RK but same issue just I would rub the lca instead.

I was told this by a local installer prior to me doing the install. I have not had it fully flexed yet, but my understanding is the rubbing would occur on the outboard shock mount on the ID of the wheel. This would occur at full lock when turning whether flexed or not. I have no rubbing at full lock.

Also to the OP, I went with an Adams driveshaft. It was slightly cheaper to order it separately from the MC kit. I haven't heard too much about the MC driveshaft but the same installer who I talked to about the backspacing said he hadn't had anyone come back with issues on the MC shaft.

Does your brackets relocate the shock up as well as out ? The outboard shock mounts I’m talking about just relo out, and not up and out.

Yes up and out. Here are some photos for reference. Last picture is as close to full lock as I can get without someone sitting in the Jeep and holding the wheel.

Well, maybe MC changed their design slightly or the gif is not 100% accurate to design. I'd be curious to find out.
