I like how this integrates with your differential cover, nice and low-profile. Everything is protected that I would want, with no excess parts or material. Are there any plans to offer a rear skid/cover in this same style? I know about the current rear skid that is offered, just not satisfied with the way it bolts to the axle tubes, and it's overall size.

A rear with this design would get ripped off on the first rock because it needs support on the leading edge.

Sorry, I meant keep the pinion mount but with the cover style rear mount instead of the axle tubes. Think that would work?

Not planning in a redesign at this point.

So it is $129 for the diff cover and the skid plate? That seems like a fair price. I like that it is unfinished so I can paint/powdercoat to my liking. Wish it had more of an angle for the skid but I think it will be OK. Seems to be the best option right now.

Should hold up well, We have been beating on ours since Jeepers Jamboree the beginning of August. There is not much to catch on the back side that would allow it to peel down .

Now I'm just confused. It either works in reverse, or it doesn't.

In all of the testing we have done we have not seen any signs of an issue.

The top post was in reference to the rear diff guard and using the same design as the front. The rear diff housing is not lipped the same and would pose an issue.

Are you not concerned of mangling the lower bolt on a rock? It seems to me that you will need to remove the front skid plate to drain the differential oil. One good hit on a rock to the bolt would make it very hard to remove with a socket. I'd hate to drill out that lower bolt every time I go to change the oil. It would be nice to have those bolts holding the skid plate to be recessed so they are protected by rocks.

That is why we stayed with hex head bolts. You should be able to get an open end wrench on the heads enough to get them off.
